Default Backtrack 4 Live Persistent USB - Nvidia Driver problem

Hi all, I've been playing around with Backtrack 4 and I currently have it installed on an 8GB thumb drive. I use it exclusively on my Sony Vaio Notebook, Core i7, 6GB Ram, Nvidia GT 330M, 1920x1080 Native Display. The display always defaults to 800x600 which really sucks. I tried to install the Nvidia drivers using:

apt-get update
apt-get install nvidia-drivers

After the install finished I restarted X and bingo the resolution was at 1920x1080 and it looked beautiful. When I logged out of X the screen went black but I was not locked up because I was able to type reboot and it worked even though I couldn't see what I was typing. When I rebooted into Bactrack again and did : startx I was back to 800x600 with no signs of Nvidia drivers. I thought that maybe the drivers would not be persistent but went I tried to install them again it said that they were already installed.....I did a:
apt-get remove nvidia*

That is where I am at now.
I am willing to try anything to get them working everytime even if it means starting right from loading the iso onto the thumbdrive. I've searched a million sites trying to find the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Roy
