Default Commercial audio levels in Tekzilla

Just wondering what's going on with the super loud audio levels during commercials on Tekzilla?? That's everyone's biggest pet peeve with normal cable television and I thought they made it illegal to do now (no idea for sure, just thought I heard that). I just had to turn off the latest episode because I have a baby sleeping in the other room and the commercials were out of control.

I normally watch TRS and Diggnation and haven't had that issue.

I hope they have or will in the UK, because I hate that, they still do it and it's ridiculously bad. Lucky there's a mute button.

As for Tekzilla, I think it's just because the ads are pre-recorded. You get ads read verbatim from the same script every week by Patrick, even on weeks where he's not there, for example. In most other shows, such as TRS or Diggnation, they actually read it each time during recording rather than editing them in later.

If it's edited in later, it has to be specifically normalised to be the same volume, and I think they just don't bother with that. I don't think they are making it louder on purpose.
