Default USB 3.0 and USB extension cable?

Does a USB extension cable affect the speed of USB 3.0?

Type don't; how long does.

For lees then 6 feet cables under $5 are OK.
For more the 6 feet it's best to go with Wireless if possible.

In fact all of my AV gear are linked to the TV with $3 HDMI cables as I only needed about 4 feet and I have no video or audio issues at all expect with connect form COX, Apple, Ruko, Blu-ray, Blockbuster (as the Blu-ray has to be for sell before I can rent the movie) , Jaroo and Hulu. TIWT, C-Net TV, and Revision 3 are in their own boat as their web only.

To paint an accurate picture, not everything in USB 3.0 is a clear improvement. Cable length, for one, is expected to have a significant limitation when used in applications demanding the highest possible throughput. Although maximum cable length is not specified in the USB 3.0 specification, the electrical properties of the cable and signal quality limitations may limit the practical length to around 3 metres when multi-gigabit transfer rates are desired. This length, of course, can be extended through the use of hubs or signal extenders.
Chaining HUBS can work up to 4-6, depending on type of HUB and cable quality, but for real range the Active Signal Extenders have built in repeaters.

While at least one company is promising high quality USB 3.0 cables that will allow full performance for up to 20 meters.
