Default SSD for OS, HDD for Storage

Hey smart people!

I'm building a new desktop PC (with help from a tech-savvy friend who's done it plenty times before) and he's hesitant to recommend getting an SSD for the OS because he isn't sure how to install it properly, along with an HDD for the rest. He only knows how to do one or the other.

Could anyone provide a how-to, or a link with a similar answer? I'll be buying Windows 7 along with the new build.

Thank you muchly!

- Scott

Default

Win7 will automatically install with proper partition alignment and offset on a SSD. So just install Win7 + applications on the SSD and format/partition the HDD however you want and store your big media files on that.
