Hi,
I'm new here and love the shows. I've had some major health issues and I have no income for like 3 more months. I had to get rid of cable tv but I kept dsl. I'm considering buying a set top box, roku 2 xs or xd. I have a sony xbr4 tv, an old oppo dvd player960, and panny bd30 bd player and a pc with a socket 775 and core2duo with aa nv 9600 vid card. I would like to watch the upcoming rugby world cup, revision3, and twit The tv shows I watch are ghost adventures, ghost hunters, pawn stars and jersey shore Would roku 2 let me watch these? My pc runs vista 64 ultimate, so what would I need to do convert it to a boxee htpc if this is a worthwhile cheap endeavor? I guess id need a vid card w hdmi output and or a rv tuner card. I know little about setup of a htpc so any help would be welcome. Thanks for ur help |

Do not forget over-the-air-tv as it is free. You can use a regular antenna, but you need a digital tuner if you do not already have one. That is what we started using and are getting about 60 TV stations. (your mileage may vary). Some cable shows are beginning to use that realm since lot of people are cancelling cable tv.
The older model of the roku is on sale and works with a lot of the computer dvr.s. Last edited by justpeon : 09-08-2011 at 02:05 PM. |

Hey man I know the feeling. I have heart failure and have no income myself and cut the cable. Roku is fucking awesome. I don;t know about rugby but you can add private channels and maybe some sports ones. Justin TV has some channels of people showing network shows and sporting events.
