This week's "No Agenda" (Oct. 27, 2011) podcast actually had an audio capture from a CDC employee stating that they manipulated the script of the movie to make those "bloggers" skeptical of the promotion/use of untested vaccines into the bad guys.
To paraphrase (when the link to the actual audio is posted I might edit w/ a link): "We were principal consultants on the movie, so we changed the script to show that *** (forget the actor/character's name mentioned in the clip) was portrayed as a crackpot blogger... and that people who post/blog on the internet have no credibility.. I was amazed to actually hear a govt/CDC official actually being caught on tape saying that they are lying/using media/trying to brainwash the public.. to ignore anyone w/ questions.. and to just: Obey. Why use those "fear tactic methods" if dont want a larger budget or in the palm of the pharma industry complex? Why not rely on actual science? Not a scientist... dont claim to be... but I get suspicious when shenanigans/propaganda is used to promote an agenda (and if the factual argument was sound.. I'd think they wouldnt need to manipulate media to promote their agenda). |

The Clip you are talking about.
Man you hear what you want to hear. There are a lot of fear mongers and charlatans out there on the web. It is hard to find good information if you don't know how to look. Hell it is hard to find good information if you do know how to look. Vaccines are safe. Every real study has shown that. Vaccines are important. No where in the clip is it said that the CDC is lying. |
