Default Gump over Shining? Batman over Lebowski?!

Turn in your Geek Cred cards boys, you are hereby on notice. Any more shenanigans of this nature and this temporary ban will become permanent.

Jeff was absolutely correct, there will never be another Lebowski.

I'd have picked Lebowski and the Shining, but I don't think either of those other options are indefensible. I was way more hurt by Panic Room over 12 Monkeys. I felt like Panic Room was a decent thriller (and the weakest of the film's that Fincher truly had control over), while 12 Monkeys is a completely unique experience that was Gilliam at damn near the top of his game. I love that movie.

What the hell is the name of the website where they do this again? I can't remember it for the life of me.

I love how at one point the criteria became "Does your dad wear the shirt?!?" lol

12 Monkeys is awesome, it got robbed. I'm not sure what twist Dan was referring to though. The overarching message I got from that movie was that you can't change the past no matter what you do. Even if you have time travel. I can't think of any "twist" though.

Big Lebowski is one of those movies that I like less than I should simply because the people who love it never shut up about how awesome it is (this isn't directed at the posters above me, just speaking about Lebowski fans in general).

12 Monkeys and Lebowski for me ...

But the Gump vs Shining has me conflicted. I'd give it to Gump only because the insertion of Hanks into all the historical footage was well done, and the emotional response it invokes as a total movie. Story wise, they are both great - though I enjoyed the Shining better as a book.

Tim Burton made batman cool

prince made the soundtrack

he performed bat dance on the MTV music awards

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgq3UaATX_U

I thought Jeff loved Prince what happen I bet after the show was over he probably remembered

seriously thou it was just edgy it introduced a lot of young kids to Jack Nicholson. I knew Kim Basinger because my parents had skinamax growing up and 9 1/2 weeks was always on. Michael Keaton man he was Mr cool back then even as Mr Mom

**********SPOILERS FOR "THE 12 MONKEY'S TWIST"**************

Bruce Willis's memory of the man running through the airport that he thinks was the terrorist was actually a memory of a grown up version of himself that has traveled back in time.

I would have gone with 12 Monkeys and Lebowski. I also would have picked Million Dollar Baby over The Matrix. MDB was a borderline masterpiece while The Matrix is IMO highly overrated.

one thing that bothered me about this movie

she works in a diner and she is getting the scraps to feed herself

its almost like the worst toilet in Scotland in bit

really the owner of the diner is that cheap he can't feed his employees or even give them a discount

Never saw The Big Lebowski or Million Dollar Baby...but I would've gone with The Shining, since Gump was amusing, but while I'd watch it more often than The Shining, wasn't a whole lot more. 12 Monkeys over Panic Room should've been a no brainer.

I can't imagine I would've chosen Lebowski over Batman Begins...I think that Batman movie can't be topped by superheroe movies, and is near the top for movies in general for me.

Batman Begins was already topped by Dark Knight. I think Dark Knight is clouding everyone's brains. Batman Begins is a decent movie but it wasn't great. I saw it in theaters, haven't seen it again since and I could be okay with never seeing it again. I've seen Dark Knight multiple times, and The Big Lebowski is a movie I go back to over and over.

It also bothered me that Dan said Batman Begins made nerds the new cool. Let's not revise history, guys. The movie that really changed everything was Spider-Man.
