I read online over over the past months various reasons why digg was ending.
Everything from Alex and Kevin getting annoyed and tired with each other to frat boy/nerd humor and discussions are no longer relevant or Prager getting teased. Now at times everyone can get annoyed with each other but seriously you don't stay together this long as friends and not be able to see past the kidding and disagreements. There still very much friends i suspect and if one needed help the others would come running. The real reason is fairly simple and something that happens to us all. Everyone involved has grown over time and now has other things they wish to do. Not to mention the both Alex and Kevin have more personal demands on their time now (congrats to both). Life is about change and this had to happen at some point. Now this is not to say this is the end of digg..its merely the end of the weekly show. You can be sure there is going to be times where they get together to have some laughs and chill out together. Shows like these never truly die they get remembered in reruns and reunion specials. I look forward to seeing what comes and its not like they faded into the woodwork as you can still see them both online. I like everyone shall miss the weekly shows..(sperm copters!!!?)..lol. What comes next should be interesting Last edited by magnus33 : 01-07-2012 at 10:17 PM. |

I'm sure like anything else in life there's no one simple reason.
They are both involved in relationships. One or the other has to travel to do an episode. Kevin isn't part of Digg anymore which makes the very premise of a show called "Diggnation" a bit silly....not to mention dated. They are both involved in other projects. They are tired of doing the show....which they clearly demonstrated the very first time they announced they were going to end the show but changed their minds.....a good number of shows prior to that initial announcement were just really bad...it was obvious neither wanted to be there. So on and so forth. I'm sure it's a combination of all these reasons and perhaps even more. Here's the thing. I don't believe they are actually ending anything. You heard me. I think they are just going to take a long break for a few months and then come back with a re-branded show. Same basic thing....just different title and different sources for stories....same show though. Mark my words. |

They haven't exactly kept any of that hidden. Both Kevin and Alex have been pretty up front about it for awhile now.

For the exact same reason bands break up. People grow up, move on, lose interest, settle down, marry Yoko.
I see no reason why any random group of people couldn't do exactly this (Reddit nation) even just using the video mode of a point-and-shoot camera and a couple of cheap microphones. It's not about the equipment, it's about the genuine interaction in front of the camera, which I think is what shows on Revision3 (Food Mob, Diggnation, Tekzilla, CO-OP for examples) usually have in common.

I'm older than both Kevin and Alex... and from the Calicanis interview disturbs me abit..
Could Kevin be saying that "I dont want to be older and still laughing, drinking, and having a good time with my friends"? Yes, being Digg-centric should be over... and filming "hanging w/ friends" shouldnt be "scheduled"... I'd like to see the show re-branded.. New name.. Kevin, Alex, Glenn just hanging out.. maybe at different places/restaurants talking of what they like and/or what foods are available... and perhaps how they'd prepare them differently. Once every month or 2 Kev and Alex in dif cities.. Kev doesnt need to pimp Digg anymore and hope there wont be a "Milknation"... Got afew more thoughts but its time to get dinner outta the oven, maybe later... cheers |

i'd love to see the occasional episode when they meet up...
even if it's only like once every three months. i watch diggnation because I like watching a few idiots getting together to talk about stuff and give their sincere "off the top of their head" response to things. there are other shows that do similar things but they don't feel sincere...people's response seem more prepared and they dont give the sense that they're completely comfortable more that they're there to do a podcast diggnation is great because it was so laid back |
