Default Money

My hypothesis is money. Every time money came up, Alex was always like 'what money?' while Kevin will laugh along (see recent Jimmy Fallon interview).

The start-up interview posted above pointed out that Kevin has enough money to live comfortably without working, but Alex doesn't. Alex is getting married and has no stable funding.

If I had to guess, I would think Alex wanted to end it so that he could make his own fortune and be in control of his own future. Kevin doesn't need to work, so unless Daria is pressuring him to settle, what guy wouldn't love to spend his years drinking with his buddies?

Therefore, Alex needing more time to develop a hastily put together career, both guys in serious relationships, living in different cities, and doing a show themed on a past venture just equates to an end.

i'd be almost sure that kevin was the driving force in ending it.

I used to think that Kevin was the one who really wanted to end it, but watching the last year or so of episodes really changed my opinion. On the Toasted Donut interview, Kevin made the comment that it never really seemed like work, and Alex definitely did not agree. Honestly, in the last year or so its seemed like Kevin and Alex have switched places with Alex seeming to care less and less while Kevin has seemed almost more energized and more into the show then he had been in the last couple years.. IMO at least.

Kevin might have wanted it to seem that way.. tho IMO kevin seemed to want to say "see I'm still cool" while also wanting to push the corporate production-ness of the show..
Also the Calacanis interview showed that Kevin said he didnt wanna look back and see himself in vids hanging out with friends, having laughs/fun, and drinking beer. IMO I'd love to be successful enuff where that's all I had to do the rest of my life (tho maybe a mixed drink or "alternative medicinal product" in there too).

In a nutshell... Kevin wants to go "corporate investor" along with speaking fees (like Newt Gingrich, LOL).. and Alex was prolly the guy doing most of the travelling to put out 2 eps in one shoot in San Fran (everyone admits that changed the show). TRS is doing well and Alex has some directing and screen writing chops (along with some buzz) under his belt now.
I'll still click a link to check out the Random Show now and then... but I'll otherwise be spending my time trying to see what Alex and Glenn are producing.

Over the last couple months, Kevin began to get annoying.
Ever since Daria came in the picture. Like every other word out of his mouth was my girl this, my girl that. No one cares that you got a girl. And you don't have to mention it a hundred time a show.
And when he get drunk, he becomes even more annoying.

quoted for truth.
alex and heather were a much less annoying couple since alex seemed to still be able to kick back and just be a bro talking about other girls and that kinda thing, kevin just became sorta annoying.

And look at some stuff he says about Alex, Glen, and Prager. Sometimes it looks like they want to knock his a$$ out.
Also Kevin acts immature a lot.

I think all of the problems for Diggnation can be mostly blamed on alcohol. Drinking with your buddies is fun, but once you start making it this competition where the other guys are yelling "CHUG THAT SHIT BITCH" it becomes frat like and douchey. I've seen most episodes of Diggnation and I always hated it when someone either from the Diggnation crew or the audience would just yell "DRINK DRINK DRINK". If Alex doesn't want to chug his beer or he wants to drink something non-alcoholic, then let him. What do you care what he does?

A lot of people think Diggnation is just about two guys talking about stories and getting drunk. Sometimes it is about that, but for the most part, the reason anyone watched Diggnation was because we as humans enjoy good conversations. It's why I really like "The Random Show" with Kevin Rose and Tim Ferriss.

$10 says you are a lot younger than Kevin.
