Default My favorite moment of the finale

When the audience cheered when Kevin said "lets get on to the next story MOVING ON" trying to get Alex to be quiet when he went off his drunk tangent.

Is it me or got really awkward in the last half?

The whole thing had a horribly awkward vibe. Kevin keeps initiating chugs when no one wants to, not even himself. It got a little bit sad and not in a good way you know? I think the crowd environment is to blame too... it's not as relaxed as usual and both of them feel the need to impress a bit more. The episode before this one was probably my favourite episode of all time, Glenn was in fine form and I will keep watching Toasted Donut for sure.

Anyway, the show gave me hours of entertainment over the years so at the end of the day my gripes mean nothing. I was pretty dissapointed with the finale pt I though. Hopefully pt II is a little more personal and true-to-life.

I was at the live show, and the awkward vibe was much worse in person. They cut out a lot of it, but Kevin and Alex were really getting on eachother's nerves by the end of the show. The crowd certainly didn't help, every few minutes someone started chanting CHUG! The Q&A session before the show was much better, as were the farewell and best moments videos. Wait until those come out next week, you wont be disappointed.

think it's because they're hardly used to getting drunk and doing the show any more.
also, they really need to learn that chug means drink the whole beer not a big sip followed by a load of putting off drinking.

I gotta say that I think they screwed up w/ the editing.
Seems they are doing part 1 with the show and probably part 2 will be the Q&A (which was done before the show) and then the video clips and maybe meet&greet kinda thing..

IMO part 1 shoulda been some behing the scenes in the "green room", the Q&A, and the 1st part of the "Diggnation" format.. so that the part 2 would bring closure with them saying "Farewell from the last Diggnation Episode" and exit with an edit of the favorite clips mixed w/ the "Meet & Greet" afterwards... other wise it shouldnt be called part 1 and part 2... it should be called "Finale" and then "Finale bonus extras"... maybe being alittle anal about it... but I just think that the 2nd part should have had the onstage official "Farewell".. who knows.. maybe they did something like that...
but "here's the deal".. I'm just sayin...

I have never finished watching a live Diggnation show......I guess that won't be changing with this one either.

Usually I stop watching because I get tired of the belligerent drunks in the crowd constantly yelling random stupidity.

This time I stopped it because of a certain belligerent drunk host.

Alex was so wasted he may as well have been one of the idiots in the crowd yelling CHUG!....except the idiots in the crowd yelling CHUG were more sober than he was.

Sad way to go out.

Default Agreed

That was not a good way to go out. They seemed drunk in a tired, sad way. It was not fun.

What I think might have thrown it "off-kilter" was contradiction of wanting to make a fun, off the wall, improvised show.. and wanting to have a well formatted smoothly run "production".

They should have done away w/ the improv, 2 stories, sponsors then final 2 stories w/ alittle improv thrown in).. but knowing how "production oriented" Prager is... I'd be alittle suspect of what is actually "Improv"/tangent. Seemed some of Alex's irritation might have been.. "Alex, you're not following the script"

I thought the ep 55 Live show for Comicon at the La Jolla Brew House was great. It was a smaller venue, less scripted... seemed like everyone had a hellova lot of fun, w/o seeming forced to pimp out their "brand" or projects as much, as many of the later episodes had become.
It also has one of my favorite Diggnation clips from it.. When Kevin gets called out for being an Apple fanboy/sellout:

That show was so awful that it was a fitting ending.

No desire to watch that again...
