Is Unbunto ok for playing with the hacking tools?
Its been a long time since I've played with Linux (the prerequisite HE-double hockey sticks drove me nuts) I'm comfy on command lines but some times a GUI just works better. Are there better distro for playing? (give solid reasons please, not the "Unbunto is a noob distro") |

www.distrowatch.com gives some good reviews about availble distros and certain software. That would be a good place to start. To me Ubuntu is no longer linux. Shuttleworth is a Billy Gates wannabe. What most people do not realise most any linux software will run on any linux distro. (there are always caveats), In fact just the other day I needed a program for my system that was not available from the repo. Downloaded the version for another linux distro. installed it and viola Was using the program within minutes..
Nothing wrong with being a mouse jockey, Ironically Microsoft is now trying to be like linux. MSserver will be going command line. Too little too late. I want my computer to work for me, not just babysit me. Yes I use the gui a lot, but do not have too. |
