Default Looking for media player box no HDD

I remember seeing Patrick or Robert showing off a small cheap media player box from CES 2012 that was fairly cheap .. like 39.99 or 29.99. They gave it raving reviews from what I remember.

Basically I am looking for a cheap all-in-one media player to put in the living room/bedroom and each of my kids room. I'd rather have something where we copy the tv show/movie to a USB stick and they just plug it in and watch it.

Right now the kids have blu-ray player's that have a USB port, but to be honest they are shit and formats can be an issue as well. Nothing worse then copying a avi file to the USB drive, then having come back 10 minutes later, it did not work Dad!

There are lots if mini media players out there, but for some reason this one was supposed to be really impressive for the price. If anyone has the episode or knows that device they were talking about that would be great.

Thanks

Wasn't the Raspberry Pi was it?
They would make a killer media server ...

I looked at some pictures and I do not think its the raspberry. I thought it maybe have had a few more output/in put options. Not really sure.

If I remember correctly it almost looked like a silver 2.5" hard drive case. it was roughly that form factor but I could be wrong.
