What exactly is Bi-amping and Bi-Wiring. I just bought a new Speaker system and i noticed my speakers have 2 positive and negative terminals. Here is my set up:

Will 5.1 bi-amp sound better than 7.1? Lastly the owners manual says for bi-amping to connect the Surround Back/Zone2 to the higher terminals of the front speakers. A 5.1 setup with the speakers that you mention will sound very impressive. No need for 7 speakers or two sub-woofers unless there is a very large listening environment. Bi-wiring is running two lengths of cable between the power amplifier and loudspeaker. This technique usually produces much better sound quality. The jumpers connecting the two pairs of binding posts must be removed. In a bi-wired system, the amplifier "see's" a higher impedance on the tweeter cable at lower frequencies, and a lower impedance at higher frequencies, The opposite is true in the woofer-half. This causes the signal to split up and reduces magnetic interactions in the cable, resulting in better sound. I use bi-wiring in my setup.
