Default Could someone explain how this scene was made?

In this video ( http://youtu.be/im4TYITM0VE ) there are shots where everything is frozen in time and the camera pans around the room. I have no idea how they did it. does anyone have a theory

If I was doing it, I'd have just done most of them with the people standing very still and pan the camera around them. The parts like the drop of water in mid-air could be done simply by taking a still of a water droplet (or if you want to get fancy, a 3D model of one) and digitally place it in the scene, then pan around like normal and make sure the droplet moves properly.

It's like the Matrix thing I think. They did that with a bunch of stills cameras arranged almost like dominoes I guess. Like think where the camera needs to move and line up cameras along that path. Then the cameras take a photo at the same time. Then you put all the images into an editing program and arrange them in order and have them play for one frame. So 24 images becomes 1 second at 24fps. Not sure if I explained that correctly. But yeah, fake it as mentioned above unless you have access to a butt load of cameras. You would need the same camera with the same lens at the same focal length and each with the same settings applied to pull it of the "real" way. There might even be software out there these days that can help fake the shot.

Videocopilot.net has a tutorial on faking this and it requires some holding still by the actors. Some of the shots could be done with a fake bullet time while others wouldn't be quite so easy. See this tutorial for one way to do it: http://www.videocopilotdata.net/efc5...orials/109.mp4
