There is a video floating around youtube that shows the making of this scene albeit it doesn't go into detail of the process used. It does however show a track dolly used for the initial filming. I'd also guess that the majority of the close up shots of trees being ripped apart are composite pieces of footage added later. Some of the explosions are real, the rest having been added later.
Now as for the weird camera movement... The footage looks like it was shot using a very high frame rate but as for the focused anchor point movements (that's the only way I can describe it) Ritchie must have used a program to lock the frame on a specific movement or part of the actor stabilizing the frame which allows the background to move around. He's been using a version of this technique ever since RocknRolla and, I think, started developing it as early as Lock Stock. Here are a couple of links: Making of... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-Lwk-Qp1yo (view @ 2:16) Lock Stock... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuGvV...eature=related RocknRolla http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4rO60aoJ04 (view @ 6:20) Not a definite answer, just a theory... |
