Oddly enough, just got a mailer last week saying we're getting G4 in HD in the coming month or two.

Why would this satisfy TechTV fans? The remake sounds even less interesting than the Cops reruns.

I wouldnt say they are shutting down.. more like changing alot of their programming to open up a larger audience while keeping their core target demographic (males 18-30ish)... it's like trying to make a network that will draw Spike TV, Rev3 and TWIT.tv watchers all at the same time.. thats a rough tightrope to try and navigate. I'm open to them opening up new material... while I'm 10-15 years older than their target audience... I love when they air action/adventure oriented movies, but find thats probably the only times I tune in.
There is a fine line between being youthful, adventuresome, and carefree... and just being juvenile... but:
We are all forced to grow older, but that doesnt mean we need to grow old (I think thats the saying, or something close to it).
Its a fine line.. just sayin

I think that is basically what it happening ... shutting down the old station, and reusing the station channel with a demographically aligned lifestyle network.

Took me awhile to realize that karma is in the hands of people... if you roll over and let shit go thinking that some magical force will give an asshole a spanking.. you are a part of the problem and not a part of the solution. More people need to go (movie) Joe Pesci on douchebags so they learn they cant get away with treating people badly... a baseball bat, a gun pistol whipping, a 99 cent coke bottle of gasoline w/ a rag and a match... some people gotta learn the hard way that there are consequences to their actions... and that usually doesn't happen until someone with balls steps up.

(this post doesnt acknowledge any previous criminal acts, just postulates a philosophical theory)
Nothing to do w/ G4... but the Karma reference urged my reply.. maybe a seperate Karma vs action vs other religions thread is more appropriate... but just sayin'

I'm waiting to see what they do. I've noticed they're having Alex Albrecht on more among other things. I don't hate X-play or AOTS.

This last year G4 has been really trying to play decent movies and TV shows that don't suck.

On Kevin Pereira's last episode the founder of G4 actually came on and apologized and explained why he screwed everything up.

I'm waiting to see what they do. Currently it seems like someone is at least trying do to something with the network.

I'm not surprised. DirecTV dropped G4 a couple of years ago and besides X-Play & AOTS I never watched anything on it.

I loved TechTV and hated what happened, but I got over that soon after with Diggnation, TRS, TWiT, and Revision3 helping me scratch those itches.
