Default tool to recover data files

Greetings,

My valuable files were gone, and I really wish to restore them. Can you propose any tool that can perform this oeration on XP, NTFS?

Try Recuva. It's from the same guys as that make CCleaner which is not bad. I haven't used it personally but check it out. It's a start anywho.

SPAM (tm) can be also of use for you. It is truly powerful and can boot and restore itself even if OS is down.

I use WinUndelete. It's fun to go through old files people thought were gone. If you weren't a n00b, I'd send you my key. I've been using this for over a year and it works well.

The OP and the person above me are spammers. Probably the same person.

Holy shit dude, this thread is one of the best spam scams i've seen in years! Start a question and then have 3 other bots make ad-based suggestions... clever even!

Nah, but it is kinda clever. I thought it was odd to see someone start a post with "Greetings" and not as a joke. But a few posts later is someone who's sole post is a response to the OP's sole post and it's an advertisement with another ad in the sig line. Spammers aren't going to make a profile with a link in the sig and then search out a post about what they're selling. They'll respond to themselves though because they know where it is.

SPAM(tm) will help you if you haven't recovered your files yet. If you wish, you can try it
