Default 'Transformers'

I was over at the forums on comingsoon.net cracking up at the 80s babies crying about the changes they've made in order to make The Transformers. Me, I'm a big TF fan myself, having seen the animated TF movie at least 30 times, and owning about 8 variations of Optimus, but all this whining makes me laugh. Then again, I usually don't get up-in-arms when movie adaptations are made. I think it's just silly.

My girlfriend bet me that TF won't break 80 million the first weekend. I took the bet, telling her she's greatly underestimated the TFnation! I'd better win the bet, if not she gets to... dress me.

I’ve carried an opinion probably closer to the whiners you speak of. (Bumblebee isn’t a yellow VW bug? Xbox and ipod transformers?) I think I’m not really all that excited, but that might also be because there hasn’t been too much actual movie footage released it seems.

As for the bet, best of luck. What do you get if you win?

What kind of “dressing” will you potentially be getting? Will be hear about some dude wearing only an adult diaper getting tazered by the cops on the news?

Yeah, I'd read that the action was so "intense" that they got an "R". Good thing they've got Spielberg in their corner!

I'm not sure what I get yet. Maybe I'll get to dress her.

What she dresses me in I have to wear in public, so it probably won't be full drag. I'm going to guess and say it will involve this tight fitting pink My Little Pony tee she tried to get me to wear once.

I'm definitely a child of the 80s and I hold Transformers near and dear to my heart. But it doesn't bother me at all that they're switching things up for the movie. If it's good, I'll love it. If it's bad, I'll pretend like it never happened (like so much of the TF cartoons that have come and gone. Minicons? What the ****?).

On a related note, the recent line of TF Classic deluxe toys were pretty good. I mean, they aren't Masterpiece leve, obviously, but for the cost, well worth it, in my opinion. Can't wait for MP Megatron, even if he's going to have a stupid orange cap on the muzzle.

I managed to track down a Prowl and a Hot Rod, but no Prime. I had the original Megatron but treated him badly. Tossing him about and whatnot. I'd love a second chance. I swear I'll never hurt you again, Meg.

I'm looking forward to Transformers, because of the two possiblities.

A) It'll be the most expensive B-movie of all time, with things so bad you'll laugh so hard and want to watch it again and again, the kind of movie you making a drinking game out of.

or

B) It'll actually be AMAZING.

I'm hoping for one of the two, I don't want a "okay" film with no "So bad it's good quality"

Default Go-Bots

As someone already versed in the Japanese classics as a younster that Transformers totally tried to rip off when it came out (with sucky animation) I was turned off instantly. Having said that, the current whiners should be locked in a jail cell and forced to watch the Transformers rip off:

Go-Bots. Now that is bottom of the barrel.
