I know that Edgar Winter mentioned in some interviews for Shaun of the Dead that there was interest in making it available in the States, but nothing has been done as of yet. I sent him a message on MySpace asking him that question, but I never got a response back. I wish that I had taped them off of Trio, when I had the chance, though I've heard they were slightly edited for those broadcasts. I would buy the DVD's in a heartbeat, if they were ever released over here.

I would too . . . I loved the original Office, but liked Spaced more . . . and I assumed the Spaced DVD's would be out soon . . . especially after Shaun of the Dead came out . . . still waiting.

Thanks for the heads up - appreciate it.

You can buy the UK version of the DVDs and play them in your computer or other region free DVD player.

From what I've read, and this is third hand knowledge which is several years old, there are no plans to release the DVDs in the US because of copywrite issues. Due to some of the footage and/or music used in the shows, they'd have to pay a lot for licensing fees if they released in the US, fees which they avoid being in the UK.

Like I said this is old third hand information, so I don't know if things have changed since then. But this supposedly came from the mouth of Simon Pegg... someone asked about a US release in a Q&A at a comic convention a few years ago, and that's what he said, then this person posted it on the official Spaced boards, where I read it.

I've been wanting to get these on DVD for, like, ever! The show is hysterical, and I would also buy the DVD's in a heartbeat.

Silly US and it's uptight copyright laws...

I have the best boyfriend in the entire world. partly because out of the blue he got me a burned copy of series one of spaced from the uk because i love simon pegg, edgar wright and nick frost. also for valentines day he got me a small signed poster for hot fuzz. i am dying to get series two of spaced and i am sad that it is so incredibly difficult to get it over here. although i have debated buying a region compatible dvd player just for spaced.... but thought it might be overkill.... thoughts?

eehhh... I'd just use a computer tink. It'd be cheaper than importing a DVD player.
