yea, that may be correct. But it had major changes and overhauls before going to XBox, it's not like what they did with Halo to put it on PC, which was just making sure it ran on PC. My point being that the final product is an XBox game, not a PC game that's on the XBox.

It's good to see I wasn't the only person WTFing over this.
I was in love with Goldeneye. Forget sticking remote mines to people, I would have as much fun stacking them on top of each other and shooting them to make them explode. And those exploding chairs. Ah fun times. Simple, fun times. |

Godlesswanderer, I used to do that too. But there was just something so awesome about sticking a remote mine to someone and waiting till they were somewhat alone and blowing them up, and then hearing the guy sitting next to you go "WTF just happened? I just blew up!"

I always remember playing as the short guy so that I could run up close to someone and they couldn't hit me. Fun times. Goldeneye may not be epic, but it drained away many weekends of my life.

Yeah. He probably did get owned in Halo. Everytime I play a game, I'm like "oh oh, I hope it doesn't own me." Because then the game suck. I mean, once Pacman owned me, and I was like "damn you pacman, stop owning me" but then I went to the store and bought pacman, and then I owned it. It was pretty ownage.

dude, I've play Halo, it is fun. but I also didn't own an xbox or 360. It's hardly about "getting owned by it." Seriously, playing Halo reminded me of playing Goldeneye. And my view of Halo isn't that it sucks, but that it tends to be overrated. And particularly that the guys on the show think that Goldeneye is overrated.

What made both of those games was the multiplayer. I don't remember what console Goldeneye came out on (Dreamcast? Nintendo?) I just remember not playing it on xbox.
Halo was great because you could connect multiple systems up to play 16 player. I've been a part of some great capture the flag matches. The vehicles and the sticky grenades made the game fun. I was a huge fan of Unreal Tournament (PC) and Counter Strike (PC) back in the day. The halo and goldeneye games were fun because you could bring that multiplayer feel to a console. And I may get flamed for this but I'll say Gears of War is over rated. The game was fun, but the story was too short. I'll stick to playing Rainbow Six Vegas over GoW any day. |
