Default Cool Software

Anyone else interested in seeing interesting software reviewed on the show other than myself? Just checking.

I figured the show was all about hardware and other gadgets. But, I have nothing against them branching out. They should stay away from games though.

Now a show about software? That doesn't seem sp appealing to me. I mean, I guess I'd watch, but I'm not sure if others would. I don't think there's anything to lose from reviewing some software or web service, maybe one per show. I guess it could be something like videoegg.com or Google Apps for your Domain.

I think that a review of apps may be pretty cool... but I don't think it should be in every show... maybe just once in a while.

It would be nice to hear their opinions on various apps... like how they feel about comparing the various types of "map" software (Google Maps vs. Live Local vs. Map Point vs. ::insert brand X here:: ) or something like that.

I think it would be tough to try this sort of thing with such a diverse audience of Windows, Mac, and Linux users that watch ID. Maybe if they found similar products for each of the OS's to compare? I dunno... just thinking out loud...

Well the majority of people are on Windows so that's what would get the majority of airtime I would assume. Wil uses Linux, so maybe he could do a weekly segment on starting to use Linux maybe? Or even show off how using a LiveCD will give you an idea of how the OS works.

Web services would be ideal since they are not OS specific.
