try removing the app, or a system restore.
I ended up with my Drive suddenly dissapreaing from windows when i installed a USB Video Capture Card on My Laptop, and had to restore windows. Though if your like me, windows Recovery is probably disabled :P |

If the disk had not been formatted properly (like in Roxio) they won't even be recognized as a cd.

0. What version of Windows?
1. Does the drive power up? 2. Is the power connected? 3. Id the drive connected to the system board? 4. Does the drive show up in the BIOS? 5. Does the drive post then the system boots? 6. Does the drive show up under MY COMPUTER? 7. Does switching disks make a difference? Honestly, in the latest versions of Windows, the optical drive drivers are included. However, optical drives are cheap if you have to replace it.
