Default Why does Revision 3 need donations?

Revision 3 is one of the most funded web startups on the web right now with millions of dollars from investors coming in. So if they need donations could they at least be a one time, smaller donation instead of an amount that they really don't need? I just feel like of all the causes to "donate" money to, why does it have to be a successful company that is financially sound? Maybe the current system made sense before, but it doesn't really make sense anymore. That is why so many people download from the mirror sites. Just so everyone knows-I still love all the content Revision 3 produces and appreciate all their effort; I just think it is dumb to charge so much just to get one show a few days early.

I have an idea....don't b1tch and get it on its normal release.
They may not need your donation today, but they might need it tomorrow.

that money coming in gets spent bro. Just think about all the servers, now the people needing to get paid... Ok now exploring now ideas ( research and development ) the list goes on and on.

Anyway this is a dead horse. Pay or dont and wait a few days.

I believe the whole early release thing is to split the downloads so that the site won't crash from the overload of people downloading the show. The donation is a clever way to trick you into thinking that you're getting it early when actually you're paying to help the site stay up. This is my opinion.
