Default Guitar Hero on DS won't use the touch screen

Colour me curious...

Quote:
How will Guitar Hero be played on DS? That's the big question for Vicarious Visions, the developer taking care of the handheld conversion. Contrary to expectations, however, the game won't use the stylus.

Unlike in Ubisoft's guitar simulator Jam Sessions, which has players using the stylus to strum on-screen strings, Guitar Hero DS won't use the touch screen as a primary input at all, revealed design manager, Adrian Earle.

This leads to further speculation that the game may be bundles with a special peripheral to aid the experience. Something considerably smaller than the normal guitars, mind.

Despite the technical limitation, Earle also told GAF that the DS game will remain faithful to the graphical style of the console versions, with full 3D backgrounds. Sounds promising.

Perhaps you're supposed to sound out the riff of the song à la Beavis & Butthead.

Hopefully they don't do too much with it. I want to keep the DS as portable as possible, and well... I don't want people staring at me when I'm playing it on the bus or something.

They might just make you press the buttons? Kind of like how you play GH on the 360 with a controller instead of a guitar?

A mini-guitar seems kind of stupid to me.

If it isnt using the touch screen like Jam Sessions, will the game come with a mini guitar?

That might be cool

What if it was something that attached over the touch part and you strummed there and it had like a neck with color buttons. The only worry there is if it accidentally became detached and you dropped it in your heavy rocking.
