There are several options for searching for a tweet, and the most effective ones are offered by sites other than Twitter. My First Tweet will find the first thing you said on Twitter. SnapBird will let you search tweets as well as @replies and Direct Messages. Google is another option, of course.
But then, the world extends beyond Twitter. SocialSearching lets you sift through Facebook as well.
