The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) is the established standard for home entertainment networking. One of the main goals is to bring Internet communications throughout a house on existing wires, like coax.

ActionTec Ethernet over Coax Network Adapter & Router ActionTec's Adapter is another option for taking an existing coax network and making it an Ethernet connection. WiPNET by wi3 WiPNET is an in-wall option that takes the existing coax wires and converts the into Ethernet jacks. Future development aims to make each these a wireless access point, as well.
