Holiday Gift Guide - Cameras

Cameras are a favorite for holiday gifts, but you want to make sure you're buying the best one for your needs and budget. We're here to help you out.

Olympus XZ-1 - $315
For a point-and-shoot at a great price, the Olympus XZ-1 won't disappoint.

Nikon P7100 - $369
If you can only own one camera/camcorder, the Nikon P7100 is it, because of the external mic input!

Sony DSC-RX100 - $650
The 20MP 1" sensor in the Sony DSC-RX100 makes it a formidable pocket camera if shooting stills is your primary concern.

Canon T4i - $799
If you want a solid dSLR on a budget, the Canon T4i is a great choice and it does nice video work as well. Add in the awesome little 50mm f1.8 lens for another $100 and you have a full-featured dSLR for $900.

Canon 5D Mark II - $1,800
The Canon 5D Mark II is a great workhorse of a camera, shooting fantastic photos and video, and recent price drops make it a great bargain.

Nikon D800 - $3,000
If you're not heavily invested in Canon lenses, you should give serious consideration to the Nikon D800. It pretty much matches the Canon 5D Mk III feature for feature, and has a MUCH higher resolution sensor.

GoPro Hero 3 - $300
We use these little GoPro Hero 3 HD cameras all the time at GeekBeat. They're great for getting point of view shots in tight spaces (like cars).

Canon VIXIA HF M500 - $400
The Canon VIXIA HF M500 will give you great HD recording with image stabilization, at a price that's hard to beat.

Canon XF100 Professional Camcorder - $3,000
With the Canon XF100 you've got a workhorse of a camera with professional XLR mic inputs, 4-2-2 50Mbps recording, dual compact flash card slots, an 8 blade iris, and a 1/3" sensor.
