From the Mr. Fusion in "Back to the Future" to real-world applications, we're looking at how plasma waste converters can turn garbage into energy!

A memorable part of the "Back to the Future" movies was the Mr. Fusion reactor on the DeLorean that turned garbage into time-traveling power.
A technology like that of the Mr. Fusion does exist, it's just not so compact, or everyday. It's called plasma arc gasification and it's both more efficient and cleaner than simple garbage incineration for power.
There are plasma waste conversion plants in Asia and Europe, but it's still more expensive than other energy alternatives, at least for now.
