" I'm just all it is. Combined brains and why are you kidding me."
" That will work over the last five seasons and then just well you know I really like the -- that I really like the whatever -- is -- on you know red there's a couple things that it's -- yes."
" I pose questions Twitter and an estimates it you know what can you can actually name all. The different at you know aspects of the set and season's best and the -- public right. You know twenty or thirty to respond to you that crappy computer -- I posted your -- mountain. Blackberry and yes -- yeah but anyway. So we've got a great episode I I am going to think that well it's the -- and it's understandable. I'm really sorry guys -- More of what we've actually got on aspect of information technology systems and I think I should yes -- last time. A the last -- today. It's -- kicking off network infrastructure. -- actually construct build plan and deploy a network infrastructure based on your needs. So that's what I'm doing this Vietnamese. Unplug everything and right. An example that a but anyway. -- and you've got a ridiculous -- that I mean."
" Yes apparently you can bypass this and sim -- security. Center. Exciting look and act I was I was okay needed them."
" A lot of people lockers and it's a lot people key especially people who have iphones. Stuff understands -- when need to transfer device. That. --"
" And -- in Atlanta I had no way you -- I would -- okay. That's that would humans look -- I done. They make that media -- Yeah right so we went there. More on. There. Well let's kick off right the person's. Details about this month's Lan parties."
" This -- Lan party is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare playing -- game dot Hak5 dollars on Saturday September meant. And you can sign up and vote for all of your favorite games of rat -- five land does -- dot com and I would like to -- responds yeah Wednesday."
" With squares case you can build beautiful looking blog website in a fraction of the time it would take -- the traditional content management system. Their intuitive drag and drop interface is a snappy and powerful as a desktop publishing -- But best of all there's no software to install new database to configure your precious -- life and no code to -- it. I don't do yourself a simple and powerful TV with a two week free trial of Squarespace dot com and use promo code. Five to support the show and save 10% off the light of your service at Squarespace dot com."
" Hey what's up guys are right so here we are back in the set again we're gonna show you. Exactly what it takes to actually. Deploy and support. I'd build the infrastructure that will go behind -- or yes excise or yes tax or the sphere a deployments that we actually. Highlighted weeks prior. I'm currently at a sticky situation where right now I've got a bottle like a network and -- no idea where it's that. From one end to another I get about fourteen megabytes a second throughput on up here Gigabit network. Between. The front and the back and we've got about five different 24 port. I'm Gigabit ethernet switches don't know exactly what the problem is because I don't have sufficient management capabilities to actually Trace back. Where that problems actually coming from. So. The master plan here is to not only fix -- problems but future proof ourself. Later on down the line. Now when I see future proof. Most of you walking to a place when Serbian network closet or data setter with stuff already pre configured and already in production. -- the problem there is you have your own way of doing things probably the way that things have been done are not the best practices. So what we wanna do is we want to live migrate. Our existing hodgepodge solution to a and best practices or is best as we can possibly get practices solution. So what I've actually chosen do. Is we're gonna actually. Re -- all of our connections we're gonna replace all the switches we're gonna stacked the switches and we're also gonna V Lan. And make sure we have to -- enabled on all of our solutions that we possibly can that includes VoIP. Adding clues if you have some other. Port that you guys use proprietary. Odd to actually transmit data we wanna make sure that gets priority so the whole series is based on start to finish where were actually go with our network. So -- give you basic rundown. We've got a couple components here. I make it may mansion in yes -- series I've got a sand solution. Which is. Ten gig ethernet which utilizes the CX four adapter for copper 1080. The Dell power connect 6248. I actually purchased a logically connect up to see export ten gig ethernet uplink modules. Into each switch. Now in each switch we can daisy chain twelve of them. Four. 576. Front and ports. To make one big switch. Beyond that we can actually connect ten gig ethernet up links into the system. So that we can actually connect servers sands whatever we want to utilize the CX four adapter. In addition we've got 48 Gigabit stacking modules on the back -- the units that we can have high speed communication between each switch. We've also got -- time extreme six plots. Which are cat six a certified. Connectors. Which make it pretty easy to. You know mix and match her swap in and now. The biggest problem with standard patch panels are your tone generator in your -- one. With the -- on series because of the keystone jacks that we actually got to utilized we can say okay port one on this patch panel. Corroborates the port one on the other patch panel in our server rack. And that's the other thing I don't wanna let us know about. The way that I'm going to implement my architecture. Is I'm gonna have a bunch of patch panels on networking closet and for each server -- we've got we're gonna put another patch panel. It makes things a whole lot more modular in the event that you ever need to move if you ever need to reconstruct. Or actually traced back and make changes to your existing -- interface. So. That's kind of a high level overview of exactly what we're gonna do to try and bring my network up to date and a lot of the same principles will apply to your network as well. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up and -- Hak5 dot org or give me up at forums dot Hak5 dot -- coming up Shannon Scott Sam. In bypassing. The at -- centro. There's because update everything that is -- related."
" This week who and highlights some of the greens -- three pound cost -- by the community and this this brilliance comes from. I've walked none other than delicious eating. Now. And who has built this sweet little. Rover based on -- there that comes or need power wheels it. This from the nineties yeah totally one. -- GI -- not the -- anyway point being he has. That website put together that documents the whole project of the hardware and electronics but it all their key guys like so I definitely encouraged to. Check it out there's videos everything linked up and ourselves. Of course if you guys want to nominate him -- he project do teachers on the show just having malice or to have contact with or. Of course we went and whatever excellent sponsors international fight against drunk driving. Listen to people out of drugs and driving did not. And messages to be here. Drinking and driving over the limit under arrest. Don't put yourself or others in danger yeah please we'll be out in -- from August 21 through Labor Day weekend cracking down on drunk drivers. Yeah I'm just putting your life from -- at risk you could -- yourself a bundle of time and money and driver's license higher insurance rates and dozens of other expenses. Attorneys fees fines and costs of toeing hairs Lawson worked to list goes on on. Drinking and driving is so easy to avoid go out have fun just went ahead and added designated driver politics actually take the bus or run a limo. They're actually pretty cheap when it split up between a dozen people. I."
" So friend online you -- not mean he was like what kind of sick dvds for your pop soundtrack. Mostly. Good question so actually. Search for upon security on centric security and I found out that there is a bypass. By using the system the -- and -- That you can bypass and find all of the hardware information on up on center."
" I really as the centuries I mean I'm not I mean news on the news but he realizes accuse them together yeah -- these trees I mean there's like. You know exploits and -- this there is it's really weird. Well first I you know and insert -- yeah I understand it and you afford to you know what. Honestly the only time it ever used to candy bar phone when he used -- in my pocket accidentally dial people ask I. Pat but I have never used to secure -- because it always imagined that somebody really wanted to just take my Blackberry and pulled the SD card back then that in."
" Well -- some -- guys. Wouldn't there itty bitty but they store all sorts of information that is. Basically unique identifier for yourself so that your network that you're no matter what phone you're using you can transfer -- if you're -- where. It stores your contacts here at some mass message it's our country -- network sorts of different kinds tons and tons of data and one thing that it protects as well is. This Sam and passwords and your -- password in case you forget -- second -- your password which is you're like --"
" Okay so so that and on the sand is what box. Great and uses it around on there. You have but you have to go about this at Atlantic Henri Paul users in the audience."
" I had to set up my phone box I went over into the phone Lokhmanian. Typed in my. Password and then I shut off my found -- and then when it power cycles comes back time. And I see you. That's okay at least insert a couple numbers yet and it unlocks and I have to answer and my four digit password and then I can get back into the spotlight and lock it. I can make calls to mean you know I can get on the Internet whenever I want. Right well -- we don't know that's the thing is you stole. False yes palm center is now another Matthews and I know that if I try -- four times or three times. Then it'll completely locked me out a great you'll need -- puck and it the only way you can get that it's finally going to the store or going online."
" And that's and you're looking."
" ministers engineering and war and and there's business and to brute forcing it but I don't wanna hit an okay cancel -- nothing so. Emergency calls when I wanna pay attention and then. So I -- emergency cop. Hit start Q."
" The phone key. Wanna hang up that emergency call for August. We would be dialing 911 here and -- now -- into the hardware. How great -- yes you can. Calendar right you see that go with gardens I have. My calendar I can see the email that that party downloaded onto my on my estimate as Hotmail Gmail. I have all of my contacts on here. Everything -- even pictured here that you can access just by doing the emergency popping you can Texas. A person's life I can access all my notes -- Issa started their passwords inside of notes or is there. Now that's very accurate any kind of information. It would completely -- Atlantis -- it would."
" Yeah it's not. Wow I'm I'm trying LA. Wrap my head around. It's -- little scary isn't it right. Now but this is just for the -- right and if that's kind now and it doesn't give -- You don't like it now. I understand you saying that the blood -- them. But the way here is that that this and I actually like as far as contacts are concerned only actually carries. Like the name and phone number. So you know war mode Smartphone you've got you know you know mobile home work yet got exactly so -- start. -- and so this just gets you access to hardware that's still really cool."
" Now the thing is there are ways to keep yourself from. Having this problem. That you can download certain types of extra security for your front centrum. There's one that I checked out a whole bunch of different forms. It does cost twelve box and not too cool for an application it's called ward insecurity for the -- out. And apparently everybody says that it's -- really good one. No I'm not parents -- bucks though because I keep my phone on me at all times so I'm not to -- the."
" Except for when you lose electronics and should try it and that's just what camera -- Well and consent to I think we should do a lot more sense I think I think is so let's go ahead and imports and on hardware and see -- and ones that we can -- you."
" So if you guys have some ideas -- Maybe some sim unlocking some phone bypasses definitely hit up my eyes snapped at Hak5 dot org or you can catch uniforms."
" It. Right and coming up in just a bit of him talking to guys about grub to -- we're gonna wrap this bad way up but first let's head over Mac and see what's going on -- Trivia."
" So our last contest was using the clues episode 525 what is the address of the -- beach house. Our winner of last time was big man. We're not only provides the address but also photos. Of the beach house with interior and a full floor plan. -- goes on to -- River Phoenix from sneakers. It's fascinating what fifty bucks we'll get you an -- recorders office you shape treatment you shares. This week's contest is one for the Photoshop and after effects crowds. Get creative with the assets at Hak5 dot org slash LCD wall and come up with your own graphic -- for -- new LCD wall. " If it's totally worth this in his iron out all the kinks. I'm working on a segment next week from rob to. Which is slick and cool list read it's it's a rewrite of grub and we helped them rob because the tasty goodness from the past. And I thought that there's that I've been doing all that reading about that stuff in fact we've -- it it. The an entire episode thread and move it to its own form there have been what what 17000 -- or something okay. It's blowing up pretty so that it deserves more than just a thread so let's let me aboard specifically porn anyway so it's as far as you know -- amendments here there. I've been looking into grub to -- It's really cool because it is from scratch it cleaned up its modular portable and best of all has it's really sweet new option called. -- act which basically lets us he -- final. And mounted as a file system so what that means is instead of extracting an ice on copying a boot folder Aaron's question -- and some other happy goodness. And hoping everything works and you know and the afterwards we can actually boot off the ice so file. Cool. Dude. And like pesos coming out life. -- what do you constantly you know so just like for the volunteers USB drive up. And that down so it's hard but he actually select which actually one. And that's cool doesn't have a nice collection now. -- It so I've been you guys know that -- guy you know and and I did the procedure it's it's as simple -- you really it's except I do when I mentioned it's when you go through and actually see it. -- little message here and -- Don't freak out it's gonna be you can change your -- up before we do this we're gonna actually. Test this stuff before we do and what that would actually does is -- to. Behind rob one. And that we do with them -- so we actually -- to from of one and it works. Be safe let's -- and -- on the command upgrade hacked from rob -- legacy."
" Act is the military definition war. Phrase for height it. We're dash U dash -- recently yeah yeah and you there's a bunch of people that wanted to know where that held that tens of crops. You're military. You from explanation. Can remove or pronunciation. Of -- her there. It costs cut that -- right yeah. This is not shaking his --"
" He's giving us the the international and it does that sometimes itself. Point being you you you just the -- and I got the point where it's like moment it's true if you know let's go ahead try to change it and I got a beautiful way. -- not air fifteen million are at it and mail it. Oh no Altman pineapple it was on that. This had. And if it turns out it was good that actually in this state because I learned that very intimate with rob we had moments. And we really connected. I feel like here's. There's something to be. But there's there's command line -- cash -- it's. Is from Atlantic yet what have they changed it's certainly -- start with one on a partition and then. And then they forgot puts us through that thing. And that I'm an idiot actually use ruby -- mean and and boring and it's it's thought that way it's now I'm gonna review. But I get everything working Nazis just add trees so that's what I'll work on here you know -- because we're patents -- next week."
" So you're so it's a bunch of the reason why you would why. Why you would actually use it to grab one and benefits of salt -- and simply can't see us as well yet prettier."
" Paul like fly low but he couldn't you can go to is happy yet by Apple and this -- He just hasn't."
" And."
" Now in the end you name it whatever Jenin or the yes."

Dunno about you, but if anyone is drinking in my household, I take their keys away.
I take the whole DWI thing pretty seriously, so please don't say we are hypocritical for having a beer on the table. We have beer on EVERY episode, doesn't mean we are driving anywhere though.

Its not about the show, its about the ads really. I don't like those ads at all. They present a bunch of statistics that one can't really verify, and repeat it over and over and OVER for the past 30+ years, their becoming the most annoying campaign ever.
One of the most annoying recent campaigns is the "To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection". The reason I find it annoying is because it presents believing everything and doubting everything as antonyms, when they are most definitely not. The antonym of believing everything is to reject everything. The antonym of doubting everything is to be open to everything, not the same thing as believing in everything which implies acceptance without verification while being open to everything implies considering everything but not necessarily accepting it. Thus doubting everything requires the same process of considering everything which requires reflection, refuting the "dispense with the necessity of reflection" part.
I am starting to notice that i can't talk about topic of interest without giving a long speech. Thanks for the feedback Shannon.

Palm Hak
Thats not the only phone that had that sort of hack. The Iphone use to have the same problem with Iphone 3G. If you went to emergency contact you could bypass and go directly to the contacts, emails, photos, and music. Apple quickly updated there firmware but it was still scary to know that this was possible.Snubs

Anytime oldarney :)
And huminflame, yea I heard about that one on the iphone. Shame they fixed it. And shame I don't have one, because I'd love to try out some of the stuff I've heard about!

Over the limit, under arrest. Its sorta hypocritical to say that when you have a beer ON the table. Maybe you guys should opt out of that advertisement, like Brian did. I find the freeness of the show to be an integral part of the Hak5 experience, taking away the beer and the trips out of the set would turn it into a cranky geeks show. OK bad example. Revision 3 please dump those ads, they lie or exaggerate on a lot of what they say. I don't drink BTW, it just bothers me when lying is made ok. The ends don't justify the means, period.
Boy that turned into a governmental rant, pretty quickly.
