Introducing WiGig: Gigabit Wireless. Get surround sound without the wires. What's the best set top box with a web browser? The Hurt Locker Producers bring a lawsuit against downloaders, Blu-ray releases for May 18th, 2010.
HDTVs are taking over the world! 65% of American households now own an HDTV, up from a mere 13% last year. Producers of The Hurt Locker are serious about cracking down on piracy. They're going after thousands of users who have illegally downloaded the film, and 75% of ISPs are cooperating. The WiFi Alliance and WiGig are bringing you 60GHz band wireless, which can deliver up to 7 gigabits per second, though you won't find it on the market until 2013. Kaleidescape has released their M300 and M500 Blu-ray players, which allow you to import and archive your movies onto your home server, though you will still have to insert the disc in the player to actually play the movie. You have until May 20th to buy the $20 lifetime license for PlayOn, before they switch to $40 with a $20 annual cost, though you will be getting Premium content with that raise, including content from Comedy Central, the NHL, TV.com and more. Finally, Comcast will have 11,000 movies on demand, and HDHomerun will release a 3-tuner card before the end of the year. Watch the video to find out all the latest HD news.
