If you want to really have something that sounds smooth and when things move around the room they don't change color character. Get matched speakers and that's the easiest way to get something that sounds smooth and nice. Only the low frequency effects and the soundtrack are gonna be broadcast by the subwoofer. Now -- can mix with Maine some of that low frequency audio gets passers so kind of mixes it. If you have kind of about system I typically said that Bentley so -- comes off little smoother. But some people might have a different set that might require them only have low frequency effect. If you just want the kind of rumble in these -- just the -- noises or a little bit everything including. If you're doing the manual senate you have to adjust distance of where the speakers located relative to the listener. Either directly to you how far apart they are in the front how far are they on the back how far apart the front and the back our space from each other. Customs are being generated by the AV receiver itself you pick up at an expense of sound pressure level meter. And use that as well to do balancing for the sound and a simple tape measure to measure distance but. You can absolutely put together speakers that are from the same manufacturer aren't the same size all these kinds of things into a system and make it sound good at certain speakers you -- but. If you want to really have something that sounds smooth and when things move around the room they don't change color character. Get matched speakers and that's the easiest way to get something that sounds smooth and nice. In your room and after five of these they are all the same when something moves around the room that sounds exactly the same and it's much more. Enveloping."

" Surround sound is a huge part of the home theatre experience especially if you love movies. Whether it's dramatic dialogue over the bullets whizzing by your head -- the shoot out the right audio setup is gonna make everything sound amazing and ensure that you're not just blocking the action. Look setting up surround sound speakers is simple but it's mostly about tweaking. We manage to get innocent home theater direct level three surround sound speakers they sound. But it's also one of the more confusing aspects of setting up the surround sound system so here are -- of the basic things you wanna keep in mind while putting your system together. Now joining me is Roger -- show producer and I think -- start right off we're talking about Kodak sort of different compressed audio formats that are of."

" Well there yet it's literally an alphabet soup but the important if you want to remember for. Home theaters that are -- yet. Dolby digital. Dolby true HD. DT SEC master audio and with something that's called that your PC and multi channel peace again. Now those last three it's there are almost exclusive to high definition movies only. And you'll find those on the latest releases like in exploration and if you wanna get the best if you want true HD audio -- to receive that supports it so. You know if you have a receiver rating that your check the manual check on the website for that particular model we have a dent in 99 you right here. And and machine dealing with one of the HD obvious -- you will not have to worry about anything beyond five point 12 thing need to be aware of are the input in your -- now this is very important if you want to do you lost the surround sound Kodak's. You going to need HDMI enabled on receiver. Typically that means you have at least two weeks you might ports in and one out to the monitor. Now one of the big things when you set -- surround sound receiver is sitting at the speakers. Now in the past 34 years. These things have become more commonplace. This is essentially he microphone. In the -- cases is part of a technology they call Odyssey atlas that for a very respectable company and the that the premise is that you basically put this where you get this it typically you mentioned -- on a tripod some error on -- where you where you would be when if you receiving. Leave it there use on the receiver in the news go through this step and you find the Odyssey and the receiver automatically start thing that's tones. Throughout the speakers and then just them accordingly to wear this microphone except so it gets the best -- Totally where you where you're seeded."

" That's taking care of really your settings like how far with the speakers are as well as the level of each speaker so that you can bounce everything just right. Of course you go right into the menu on this thing and do everything manually but. Generally speaking I had really good results with using up a microphone like this and during the automated setup. It's getting better all the time."

" Now when you're going through them the actual manual says there's a couple things you wanna keep in mind. Typically you'll find settings for a large speakers and small speakers at a smaller speakers count those small cubicle ones. The old small ones that may be only go down media hundred acres so you would set it down this small. And that way any frequency you know around a hundred or so it is automatic pass to this -- You get the dealt receiver whether or not yet senator speakers. Surround sound speakers with subwoofer and if you have a seven now one system that's round back speakers like the thrown back left and -- him back right."

" Totally because doing that during the set up in the menus within the receiver itself you'll tell it exactly how many speakers your house so that is the content is being played through it. It would then say okay look I'm receiving five don't want content from my Blu-ray movie and make sure that when output this -- it just two channels. And it's a thing that -- you don't have to worry about what format the audio as as long as it gets into the receiver the receiver knows what to do with it from that point and takes care presenting you with media audio response appropriate for your speakers."

" Now if you have a more advanced receiver typically have a couple of settings for subwoofer. Color -- low frequency effects and of course mean now if you just said hello frequency effects. Only the low frequency effects and the soundtrack are gonna be broadcast by the subwoofer. Now -- can mix with Maine some of that low frequency audio gets passers so kind of mixes it. If you have kind of about system I typically said that Bentley so -- comes off little smoother. But some people might have a different set that might require them only have low frequency effect. If you just want the kind of rumble in these -- just the -- noises or a little bit everything including. If you're doing the manual senate you have to adjust distance of where the speakers located relative to the listener. Either directly to you how far apart they are in the front how far are they on the back how far apart the front and the back our space from each other. Customs are being generated by the AV receiver itself you pick up at an expense of sound pressure level meter. And use that as well to do balancing for the sound and a simple tape measure to measure distance but. What Roger mentioned just using it a setup tool like and automated microphone system on a tripod that's really that's really the easiest way to go and nowadays the results are pretty darn good compared doing it. Fully manually. Right now we have everything connected running let's actually look at the receiver with the movie -- we have a Blu-ray -- Iron Man plain. Dolby true HD now this was DT yes HD master audio would say -- yes master. If it was a PC and that would -- multi channel audio so it. Or some sort of matrix study OUC dolby or stereo. And of course you need."

" Don't of the players well and specify for those -- formats -- generally want a bit stream output. To to receive real this doing any -- you really want it all being done by the receiver itself. And certainly please do not use any of those specialized audio modes like concert hall war. Bathroom motor something like that turn that stuff often stick to just straight dolby. DTS and those type formats. Right now I understand you need to do a recession selection don't do that Medicare and hopefully Patrick will find this week that they can join us Roger.
