Today on HD Nation, we talk resetting your HDTV, mobile pairing, Netflix Super HD and accessing secret HDTV menus!
Mobile Pairing: Google's YouTube TV interface continues to evolve...and it looks great on the PS3, and now Xbox...and as CES showed, soon...everywhere else too. Are you Waiting for Netflix SuperHD? Reset Your HDTV! Hidden service menus are tempting to explore, but can you ruin your HDTV if you click on the wrong setting???
Netflix announced Super HD streams recently, but the only catch is that network providers have to join the Open Connect Content Delivery Network. Hopefully more Internet providers will jump on the bandwagon soon.
Google recently added the functionality to control YouTube apps on TV connected devices with smartphones. Robert gives a demo of connecting an Android device with the PS3 YouTube app and queuing up media.
Rick was curious about the service menus in his HDTV, but didn't want to mess things up. Luckily Robert has extensive experience with these menus and knows the dos and don'ts. Most everything is a don't! Don't mess with the service menus! Exclamation marks!!!! Anyway, here's the reset code for a Sony TVs: with the TV on, hold Volume + on TV while pressing power button on remote. New Sony sets: hold down the UP ARROW on remote, and then hit power on the TV.
