Tip #1 of HDTV Setup

Robert mentioned to set the highest supported output that matches the TV. But what if you have a receiver that up scales everything to 1080p? Onkyo 706.

Currently I let the receiver upscale everything to 1080p. (I do have a 1080p TV)

Str-k7000

Hey guys,

A simple google search for Sony STR-K7000 would reveal that the receiver does not process audio over HDMI. Walt needs to buy a couple optical cables to get audio out of his HTIB.

k7000 receiver

This receiver only supports an HDMI passthrough. You must also connect optical cables from devices to the receiver for audio; or back from TV if it supports it (more than likely just a PCM signal vs 5.1 through)
