About Zadi Diaz

Before creating Epic Fu in 2006, Zadi was pioneering the online video space garnering the attention of The New York Times, Forbes, CBS Evening News, MTV, The Associated Press, The Guardian, and many other national publications.

Her work in new media began as an editor for Welcome to the Scene, a show primarily distributed using P2P technology about underground P2P culture. She continued to edit various online videos, eventually capturing the attention of the New York Times for her mash-up video of Green Day's Wake Me Up When September Ends, which was adapted to tell the story of Hurricane Katrina. Since then, she has been completely immersed in internet culture and has never looked back.

She is co-founder and principal of Smashface Productions (http://smashface.com), a new media production company, and co-founder of Pixelodeon (http://pixelodeonfest.com), an annual screening festival recognizing innovation, inspiration, and community in global online video. Zadi has spoken on panels for NPR, SXSW, and NAB about her work in the new media landscape.

She is a member of the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), the PBS Engage Advisory Committee, as well as a member of the Transatlantic Network 2020, an international initiative founded by the British Council.

She lives in Los Angeles, but is a native NYer at heart.
