Image Comics

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 – running time 28:46
Image Comics, the company famously born from an artists revolt, is now the place to find some of the best writers in comic books!

In 1992, seven of the biggest artists in the business - Todd McFarlane, Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee, Erik Larsen, Marc Silvestri, Jim Valentino, While Portacio - left Marvel Comics to form Image Comics, and nothing would be the same again.

More than 25 years later, Image Comics has grown from a place where flashy art ruled the day to a haven for some of the best and most innovative writers in comic books. This new emphasis on writer and story is personified by the newest partner at Image Comics, Robert Kirkman.

This week iFanboy takes a look at just some of the offerings from this "new" Image. Here are the books that they are most interested in:

From Robert Kirkman: The Walking Dead, Invincible, The Astounding WOlf-Man, and Brit

From Jay Faerber: Dynamo 5, Noble Causes, and Gemini

From Joe Casey: Godland, Nixon's Pals, Charltan Ball

From Joe Kelly: Four Eyes, I Kill Giants

From B. Clay Moore: Hawaiian Dick

From Jonathan Hickman: The Nightly News, Pax Romana, Red Mass For Mars, and Transhuman

From Alexander Grecian and Riley Rossmo: Proof

From Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie: Phonogram

From Jamie McKelvie: Suburban Glamour

And finally, the massive tome that is Comic Book Tattoo

As you might be able to tell from the above works, Image Comics is one company that defies classification.

Episode 95 - Image Comics [Discussion]

Image Comics, the company famously born from an artists revolt, is now the place to find some of the best writers in comic books!

Click here to watch the show!

From Joe Casey: Godland, Nixon's Pals, and Charltan Ball

From Joe Kelly: Four Eyes and I Kill Giants

From B. Clay Moore: Hawaiian Dick

From Jonathan Hickman: The Nightly News, Pax Romana, Red Mass For Mars, and Transhuman

From Alexander Grecian and Riley Rossmo: Proof

From Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie: Phonogram

From Jamie McKelvie: Suburban Glamour

And finally, the massive tome that is Comic Book Tattoo

As you might be able to tell from the above works, Image Comics is one company that defies classification.

Sorry guys, but somebody seriously screwed up the audio on this one. It's definitely all coming out of the left channel. It must be something that was done in post, because it's not just the guys but the intro music and the Rev3 logo too.

Sorry, I really can't watch like that. Hopefully you'll put it back out in corrected form so I can check it out...

ps- looks like it affects all formats of the episode as well, even the flash on the site. that sucks.

Was the intro a crack at Spawn? You bastards. :(

Yes, we're aware that there's an audio problem, and we will try to fix it. Sorry for the invconvenience.

Also yes, that was a crack at Spawn, but McFarlane can take it because Spawn made him rich, and we can laugh, but whom is the joke really on?
