" It's I mean it's a great work of fiction I mean its its -- you yet you get tied into the characters you definitely. Feel for the guy and deal with his family issues you feel for the girl is even so where she's coming from. There's their program their their romance romancing and yeah like kind of weird families like -- sisters or. And also just the setting itself and taking place in Israel and and just on the political ramifications and yeah. Authentic yes your -- idea if this -- because they're you know book yeah. Garcia mrs. Palmer show at any point and they sort of accept any deal -- it and that's in the background there's like this. Slight tension there's a slight its -- if it's a true set it. I mean like you're like -- thing is quite obviously a story takes place in the city in this time period this that was going on but you're right you're there you you feel the weight of what's going on around in terms of the suicide bombing in and all that with terrorism and things like that just kind of this. This constant threat but -- people's little underlines -- have relationships and still. Have been United on the road trip and -- you know when you see you road trip you mind I think people driving from. Nevada and California right now and I hate what that like when it looks like this doesn't look like that -- feel like capture -- death. Re elected -- and it's it's it's it's definitely one of the more you know like it's in a drawn and quarterly is the is an interest in publisher and that they. It did definitely -- say Indy comics is that. That kind of connotation it's hard to describe the current comics that they do -- there. So graphic novels is that right now that our our superhero books or whatever riches but other. Nine. -- six all sorts Smith the arts -- actually done as a looking and actually almost reminds me some of the blue byte. " And prerequisite. Homework. I don't if I I did gambit from phony press by Colin bond. And Bryant hurt this is a book that I had. First is not an interest because. I heard the -- in the house like our readers from her book is nothing to do antlers but like that's less originally -- in -- in the band and a sense. But and I started thinking about it and I. Want to check it out and then when I was this is your right I is an apartment now solved but it's there was no there was no hope will put. I don't care for mom and I picked it up and and I actually interviewed you guys. Did it in the video show but I only half. It is true confessions of -- What this book is easy it's a gangster story sort of from. Thirties forties but not really in our world because you find out that sort of crime families and I are all headed by demons. The dollar credit all the mobsters are demons. Underground but he was -- demon heads -- do -- ahead of headed ideas and his. -- play on words yeah remains true facts because I was reading and I didn't know that and the way they presented is. Yeah -- yes it's well 88 but. You know any -- to see -- now and they pulled back they have sitting at desks and and he's clearly -- and that's no way to sell this -- you. Back on -- to you thanks. No it took him to tell you about so without giving you that information because otherwise so I -- that that sorry are evidently Russia talked about. The book before it's true went to hadn't finished but about it at all its own stuff and what happened and so presumably you finished it now. That threat to follow -- up the first one this is a fifty dollar trade that's absolutely worth it. It's fun though it's I loved being besides yes and -- like this everything who cruisers are common bond and Bryant hurt Bryant -- is an artist whose work. You may recognize he did being country do we have people -- part time. Hard times. Which are rusty -- about prison -- room that read book. The lakers."

" It did go to Central America and thanks yeah it but as these. Really he's sort of an artist who exists in between. This superhero style. At least it's not -- it's truly life like but it's not occur to me but yeah superhero it's very much in the middle of all and I love this there. There aren't a big fan they should be more. Hopefully he divorce I really liked the way he's. And it's a moody book and it's very genre based like everybody talks like demon bar yet to ignore. Gadgets games dolls and guys and Tommy guns and this guy over here you know like hook -- This really sort of taken for granted that the audiences there and it -- don't quite know if the general population knows about the demons this terrorist or. But the service set -- for stories that keep going for one Paula Wolfson -- blow. Ron never wanted to up this particular reason it's so damn disease and use the main character from this. Is that curse. And when you first meet him -- and it turns out that whenever you touch any. You've got if he's dead if he's dead in the first person types last. Then gets killed in his stead. And then Eddie comes back to life sole candidate -- it says it was the reverse pushing gas and over and over like he's got these scars on his face he keeps getting more and more beat up his keep tonight. And vulnerable open just select if you ask if you cut its nose off it would grow back right to -- it again and and anything about Eddie is he is. The quintessential. Gangster tough guy. Like literally walks in durable giant demons. Just doesn't get cash plus like or at least playing a role to let you know it's for front yeah I think it very much in. There's something really fun enough characters like and in that's one of those things about my -- that are records that -- is just. Can't be phase one every liquor control every medium. Our media people responded accurate picture of leadership because you want to be person doesn't give us it might be that aloofness that guy who. -- will steal the demons group you know. Install yet and that's one."

" And this sort of underlying story of why he's encouraged and his family thing where his mother fall or fall of all the stuff before hand. And and there's also there's an impending gang war which is also -- war between the demons really hoping is that not. Just think it first you just wonder what he's just demons you know let me just activity but. But they tell them even stuff that goes on so like this purses and like all the funerals like. -- if you read held laser if you know the units the control you know like that that d.s name that's always resolve their names and yeah the."

" The whole mystery to -- a list of names of the it got out of -- attacks the final estimates it but it's to stop. It we demons. And then this third group of demons of the promotion. And they have some other hand they're like the Irish mob. But Alex they're not wore -- game so that a wild card gotten any. This is run apparently it was really fun of it if you gotta -- just appeals of the dealers association elect fantasy side at that just happens crime. Extra stuff that's -- for for the Brittany movement listening."

" is that this is a setup it's it's point one I think it's six issues. And it's set up a lot and it finished the -- is sort of put. But there's a lot more -- tell -- still doing it there was three issue mini series that just finished up all prodigal sons. I was using to -- and his brother's relationship which is and then sort of pass there which is actually did like slightly different type of story. Spot on and it's and another freezers and there -- those who aren't going to trade. I don't usually. An option for movies also big surprise that this is that this is that we double check -- Obama was a lot of husbands. I was surprised and I was I was. Very I was pleased when -- this is really something. There's nothing quite like it because it mixes sort of those different elements of the men are comics everywhere and that -- stuff that you. You can read -- But this puts together any. It unflinching -- Actually it was -- that there's going to get a camera it's asserted on its world experience -- it's also like. Sort of old style dialogue but tough guy forties yeah thirty gates again attacked me it's far. The media gift planner the great times and hard. I really -- so that we it all works together really well and and he's great artist and I think more people should go to grant. Candidate. Books and books more books of course you don't work so the damn -- press. How much picked it up fifteen bucks not bad that's -- that's pretty also that you created out of print and popular mayors points well that's. " I consider myself a bit of a marble fiction -- yes I'm a big marbles on the on the -- I've never heard this I literally -- that's because the -- book. I don't --"

" So was this is one of the imagine this is 1987. And marvel put out a few old hand this is no this isn't an epic. No it's not allow this is a marvel graphic novel the right across the top and this was just it's not a compilation is an original. Signals team and it was six dollars back them. Six dollars -- it's time. Yes his expenses those in the mountains but by whom I didn't make -- says there writer and Bob -- the artist and it's -- You know it's similar cards but. It's like archaeological fine but man can cut. -- I'm all alone cannot slept through it and I certainly you're -- is your time here is your main idea how much this is just as I heard this little thing didn't superstore to expect for what's Christmas present. Isn't. It's unions about -- doom should be should be subtitled a Purdue and be careful what you wish for. With the story is is -- doctor doom he gets control the purple man. The last decade that featured featured her lament prominently and -- to the doctor Gupta did it's problematic he. It imprisons him and he should put him his big jam. And the jam you know send out has propelled. Sadness to the whole world's and and then. -- takes over the what's it takes over the world becomes ever do them. Now all of the world leaders go to the UN and then prevent remember Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher can can Castro and Gorbachev earlier as you know in the real world test. Well certainly there's almost technology resources and -- the great food but it's now utopia -- was brought the world is Melinda was well below -- Just -- all the big commitment to the dismantled and everyone is living in prosperity. Except for wonder man. But how does the beginning to have the deficit but to take all in the dark purple management division is there's a robot -- So meticulous but when a man with a the next isn't that. Successor depression tech toys are put -- for an experiment. For a month. For Diana Kennedy is a lot of that happening do takes over -- accept an experiment he comes out to find the -- been taken over but he's unaffected by it. So that didn't even proceed to try to free some world he does fight. You know waking up to use text America except when it starts it's a pop guy but why why well then that's interesting is because the defeat doom. But then there's the moral. Quandary we're -- like are we really -- good -- wasn't feeding room because people are being too because he's okay he's doing it against you know little Krewell. And it's an opposite walls are so bad because it was peaceful man kept -- well -- a peaceful people ugliness of Florida to choose peace. And and and we never choose he says the -- this tragedy as a bittersweet ending because there's a big Apple's doesn't speak full page where you see the repetitions of William powers are taken away from. You know all the blacks are suddenly put down South Africa but it -- back in Afghanistan. You know violence expect into the streets again so it's kind of like bystander wondering. -- may be -- isn't such a bad thing. I'm with doing that and what does this is a story continue on the back cover the story of this is likely this is a preview is that I think this is here's a scene from -- yeah and if you want if you've actually opened the book just one of going to back you want to see if it's for you though are from above all of this is. The Mac classic 87 style also that is. -- the demon Batman book and outside the similar source Clinton threw it."

" Gonna see these pages where. I don't see panels like that anymore like the one machine and she -- arm going all the way I like long thin horizontal days -- eighties marbles so I'll -- it's good. " Not like it felt like something that's the that's another TV and go to Sears and -- he's also the media at the end. Seniors and -- men died in the sopranos is not continuity well. People died in -- comeback I ask Alex but it is I mean this -- like. All the vendors and a two fisted action it's those before emerges -- started that there are the -- Bolivia have have to build a cop I'm sort of in Manhattan and -- it was breakfast tables was -- disease in west today appointed Fisher became. Standards number that. That automatically it was just a vendors though a much younger and it's. Did its mariners liked to do threat and that's. But the best part of this separate statements I want to look at it the best part is is doom. Because what you wish for is that he doesn't like really the world. Ha ha ha -- it's a little bit this cult -- hop hop. I'm just too much annoyance there's a -- only gets his meetings all -- The more bureaucracy lawyers keep -- Atlanta -- but if everybody's under the hood utopian -- cinemanow board does not just they just didn't didn't hesitate don't hate each other. People to them there's no do that instead by the fifth the (%expletive) idea of the aryan baby for the purple antifreeze a banner -- all the bridges in this room. Horrified look -- event yeah. Paperwork that was awesome that's really smart doesn't really cool."

" I love big the character designs and that like I'm looking at -- iron man and I like design is -- red arm and it is actually just Forrester reading comics. Which is that which is sort of that that -- time that I remember like looking at back issues I was younger and finding that a lot want. Iron man enough and and just how those pages are like in between old south comics modern style and it's for the image stuff. But it doesn't look so old that -- on this is great face act like these are good comics it's funny because this was the original -- but like. I think people electric -- until like an ice in the -- nice and illicit Bob Holden and he Keith Williams insisted that the thanks goodness -- and you know if you are sort of newer comics and you don't know David McSweeney. I mean it's a name that isn't really a household name today and I -- years -- I know a bit like he did sell a lot of us that -- lots of unarmed man amazing -- vendors like he is really is yet he he worries that he's WTO old workhorse of the punters and our -- universe that's all he read at all yeah books and a thumb so unfortunately unless you love. The Damned is is Demon Crime Noir, Exit Wounds is a story of relationships and family in Israel, and Emperor Doom is an Avengers graphic novel. See? Nothing in common, except they're awesome.

Is there some Scott Pilgrim theme tying these together that I'm missing or did the guys just want to coordinate?

Not completely sure why but a completely enjoyable show. Exposing Ron to a little corner of the Marvelverse that he knew nothing about was fun to watch. And the end credit gag was delivered perfectly.

Thanks.

So The Damned looks awesome, have to check that out. I'm curious when (or how I can stay in the loop as to when) the next run (arc? sorry, new to comics) will be coming.

Those old Marvel Graphic Novels are always awesome. I only have a few of them but I want them all. The comic shop I went to while I was in college had a whole shelf of them and whenever I had a small week or some extra money, I'd pick one up.

Dreadstar, Revenge of the Living Monolith, Hercules: Full Circle and, of course God Loves, Man Kills are my favorites of the ones I have.

The second 3 issue arc, Prodigal Sons, just wrapped up. I believe there will be another 3 issue arc coming soon. It doesn't come out all that regularly. It isn't clear when the next will come out, but it'll be a while before a second trade I think.

Read the first issue here for free.
