Scott Pilgrim might be the most unique, fun, and energetic books out there. If you've always wanted to check it out, here's your chance.
Bryan Lee O'Malley turned comics on their ear with the release of the first volume of this acclaimed series, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. The series was like nothing we'd ever seen: a combination of music, relationships, video games, manga, and sheer mad genius.
Josh, Ron, and Conor try to distill just what is so special about Scott Pilgrim, and we find out all about Ron's special night in bed with the first book, and what this all has to do with Harry Potter and Arrested Development.
Clearly, Oni Press has struck gold, and surely Scott's rating is indeed "awesome." And once you read the first one, it would be nearly impossible to stop before reading the second, third, and fourth volumes.

"First, thanks to the iFanboys for hooking me up with this one. I love it.
Second, I talked to Bryan at the HeroesCon a little bit - though he was stand offish for the most part - and he hoped to have the next book out by the end of this year."

I really don't want to bring this argument back up but I checked out Love Hinta the other day. I thumbed through it and I found it to be nothing like SP, I'm not saying that I don't like Manga. I've read it, I will say that SP is Manga-inspired but I don't think it's manga. I hate to be an elitist but Manga is something that can only be done in Japan, I've seen people try to do Western Manga but something is always missing. SP doesn't try to be Manga, it tries to do it's own thing which pulls from Manga, Video Games, and Comics. If anything I would say SP has more in common with the news paper comic strips and Cartoons, the action Brian Omaly uses seems to be pulled from there.
Thats just my two cents.

Seeing at the issue 75 isn't up yet: What the hell Josh?
I have a feeling you had to preemptively buy your wife a yacht with no explanation to make up for that.

I just see Scott Pilgrim as a scruffy nerf herder... um no wait... I guess he kind of is but I don't want to punch his face in so that would indicate that he's not (I kid, I kid). I think of him as a guy with his own style, I really wouldn't classify him under any label.

I saw this episode and I ran on to every online store i could see and bought volume 1. I should be getting it soon. Scott Pilgrim will probably be my favorite comic (well one of them). I want to go out and buy volume 2 next week planning to read them on my vacation.

My, my. Scott Pilgrim always seems to spark some sort of heated debate on the iFanboy forums.
I ordered the first three volumes on Amazon a few months ago after reading the other thread about it, and they sent volumes two and three, but not volume one. They decided to hold onto that and then cancel the order a few weeks later so I have been unable to read it. I was lucky to find the volume one at a Borders outside DC the other day, and I read it before watching the episode. I have to wait until I get back to Colorado to read the rest unfortunately.
I did think that turn at the end was a bit much at first, but I think that in the last few pages I was able to accept it. I can say that I am not sure I would have even considered reading the other books if it were not for the encouragement of the people on the forums and the iFanboys.
