Josh, Ron, and Conor hit San Francisco for this year's WonderCon. In the most packed convention show ever, we've got Zack Snyder and the cast of Watchmen, comic creator interviews, and plenty of fun.
This just might be the biggest and best convention episode in the history of iFanboy. Go on the Tiki Tour, head to the parties, find out if iFanboy staff writer Mike Romo gets to do an interview, and hear from as many creators and stars as you can handle.
Our old friend, writer Rick Remender tells us about his work with Dark Horse and Marvel on the Punisher, as well as his mysterious unit.
Man of Action, Duncan Rouleau tells us about The Great Unknown.
Lars Brown is back with Northworld, talking about the second volume in his fantasy story.
Mark Andrew Smith is one of the men behind the juggernaut Popgun Comics anthologies from Image Comics, as well as the all ages book, New Brighton Archaeological Society.
Joe Casey reluctantly catches us up on some new projects like Dark Reign Zodiac and Final Crisis Aftermath: Dance. He also handles some special correspondence duty.
Ben Templesmith is a multifaceted creator who just happens to know a lot about US Presidents as well as vampires.
Ed Brubaker, one of the biggest names in comics talks about his new film, Angel of Death, as well as his work on Daredevil, Captain America, Incognito, and the upcoming Marvels Project.

" War. This episode of iFanboy has brought to you by square space and diverse media."
" This week I've been whipping -- wonder -- 2009 San Francisco. I'm Josh myself Ron -- you all sorts of and it's great."
" We talked the creators go to parties and for all backed. We're talking and Ed Brubaker showcasing -- the after the launch aid given to."
" Come here without reprimand or the dark horse Booth and wonder god has a record high it's going wonderfully thank you. Wonderful to see you again it's wonderful to see you did this last year won a gun at your call I do recall I don't that you do. I didn't. A year later back it's -- Cisco. A lot more books that come out at dark horse pretty much fear agent those kind of -- dividend or so or a temporary end. Yeah output and that with this the first major markets coming to an and -- issued 32. And then once 32 his rap we're taking a break going on hiatus for a little while there will be more -- agent. We want to recharge your batteries this story we've still got a lot of great stuff that'll wrap up everything that happened with the war and that's all the ins and although all the wonderful dirty shirt that was set up. On and then when it's done we want to recharge to make sure that that every time we come back to the series it's with absolutely a game. Because I think for everybody bird for Tony and drama and I it's sort of a love letter we've you know. We've enjoyed making anything above and beyond most anything else and I remember the day that you actually used -- on Twitter you mentioned that they the last ark appeared it was coming up -- many people reacted to that in the kind of over -- in the respondents ending. Was it could see that kind of immediate reaction. Sir I mean you know when you make something personal and you make a book that's like especially crater on thing that. You know when it starts -- in 2004. It was yours Tony mourners sitting around talking on the phone one night about what. We like about comics we're looking forward passing her on present an image is Jack Davis and looking at different you see things. And your agents kind of born out of that they -- when you give birth to something it just -- your body. And you decide to actually make it you take that next step into you know we nobody told us to make this we made. Because we come up with the idea so much. You I have a very pessimistic attitude that nobody's going to care no matter how good it it is anyway. I'm inserts it's obviously very gratifying that people loved the book is much that it's one of our favorite books and the important thing that is that is not over. Now now now now if you if you will be the end of you'll see from issue one to 32 was one story. So you can watch and that'll be seven trade paperback through the material and once that's finished U boat -- course is going to do an omnibus. Still have a big fear agent on the bus that'll have them first one. And then we're going to recharge our batteries in the story make sure that we have absolute a list of what we know ideas we come back to it. And then when we do come back to it will build up the next the next election. -- solitary to winding down you've got the end the gigantic over to our card's half both kind of new books how's the reaction been to those great. Great I mean object yet it was really surprising it was nothing but positive. And I anticipated because of a little while you're at that maybe people wouldn't be able to -- to join Alterman. But that the reaction was great ultimately what we're doing is gigantic the first seconds -- five. And then now that'll be collected in trade and we'll come back to that periodically. The and the league issue nine is going to be a double size forty page issue that'll wrap up the first story and then that's going on made us as well. All three of -- coming to you know not a close but they're all gonna be put on hold in the stories we'll wrap up the -- and a nice way so that they're still -- welcome back to them but as they're structured right now that'll be the wrap up on us that the agency is I was going to also ask you about you worked at marvel. And you your curly -- punish her. And so previous who have talked he talked about how you've got a lot of crater that's not it that's the image dark horse but Nazis that the trader -- stuff that's gone on shelves and is that they can focus on marvel worker."
" That would barely able to work from -- take more time."
" I'm I would. It takes time I mean like with everything I do want to put my best foot forward and -- And I'm I'm I'm I look back on a few things I've done in the past when I let myself fall under. Overloading myself and doing too much and there's a couple books that I look back on comic you know I really wish that I had either done taken a lot more time and really polished -- more. I don't want that ever happen again I think in the last three years had been I'm pretty much. I'm happy with anything that's come out my name on it and I want to keep that up and party your maturity as a crater I mean like when you're starting when -- starting you do everything you can get as much as again is that desperate anxiety Telecom and you'll do. And done and then once you realize they'll do the books and you you slow it slow down and things happen with my generation of guys and we all started blockading. Vary vary a structure oriented. And we're all very critical of one another and in trying to be you know a community you know guys like. You know might like my artists of course Tony drone we talk and then you know Jason -- and Matt fraction and Brandon -- a there's a big guys will all sort of it's -- work. We're we're working to -- com. This generation's. Vertigo guys from the nineties and I know that you know some of -- already are in an -- and and in that group but I think that. Obviously you want to look back I didn't leave animation to make mediocre comics. I looked animation so that when -- looked back at a pile of things -- I'm proud and anybody. So hopefully as you reported this you know you that desperation Manning's night quiet and you could focus on. Every bit of the craft and fine tuning. So on -- server marvel you Roger Le pen is artist on that. And a cynical C keep working -- that are you trying to work with the people because I know marveled at the chances of you getting TWR's that you probably aren't familiar with is probably better than your crater on stuff so. And -- was was was really receptive to terms of everybody's you know when you can't look at trends pages ago. Bouncing back guys ready you know that Durham is going to be Jim -- level I mean he's just he's too good he's quietly -- he's got. You know elements of him gently and that he's got that rare mixture of realism style -- nation that so few artists and perfect its storytelling. You mix that together and he's probably in my opinion the one that by -- comments so. -- was really great about you know bringing drone on and letting us work together and I think the results that have been you know we've got tigers are working together. And that I think shows in the punishes others you know we're already unit. That's not the but it. Not unit. You know -- unit and it. Only functioning. But he -- Your room and I are fully functioning unit -- you know where where there's there's two hands as it is a pencil earned an anchor in her own and -- there's a writer. In in -- and I'm sitting here thinking this at the dissident how rich really stepping it up he's getting a little over sure we're being very professional. And our unit where unit. You yourself that you Edward Kennedy not in this area that role. So a guy in and it's wonderful work with your dominant I'm so happy with what he's been turning it I think when people see what that she's very foreign five or are. Phenomenal that just gorgeous. So approaching Catholic punish her. Who's this kind of you know single minded single focus you know I -- a lot of you know similarities the suppliers but you know Tiki is that -- agent are the kind of -- you're right so is it easy to step into the frank -- mindset. -- It was once. You know with what they were doing what we're journal and then transitioning that into. What the dark rain it's all about what they're doing with that stuff. There was a moment of of not knowing how to handle frank in that situation but I think that his when -- went when he's in his new sidekick Henry came into play. And in his new missions this propaganda war against against Osborne sort of sort of solidified it all kinda came together in my head where. -- With the help of somebody who gave him a good idea writes the terminator supports of nature. He sees beyond the point of you know analyzing every step there's no internal conflict anymore there's just what does. And once again into the purity in the simple you know like that's the character I don't need to redefine him I don't need to crack him open and steel makes him -- I just need to put him in a fun story and let it play itself out. Then it just the -- it took off. I came here without I think -- staff writer micro. Hi hi how are you welcome the wonder -- just make sure that that the people out there were familiar and yet got to me it was -- likens are about the haircut."
" So is the big day think in my view of these interviews. Actually. Like that and the continuity and I can ask about on pasting. This and asked about the artwork and I know that we talk about the roller but and -- we had an issue in. We had issued the last shows I think that we're going to try to the three of us that -- you know be running -- going to try to stick to do any interviews. Just you know does that mean. -- tonight piano but I don't know if you saw the New York show at all let them anyway that's how we're going to have to do if that's it's a policy I think. I'm here at Duncan love how you do an event connected. On a couple of days ago I I -- in the comic shop I saw a book called the great unknown number one. I picked it up I really read it and you to tell tell people about who don't know."
" It follows the story of Baghdad name's Zach -- found in his. But genius like all of us and every idea he has an early scenes that somebody else also -- and that idea as well. And this has been going on for his life for quite some time. And it's gotten the point where everybody thinks he's just talk and at the end of this issue one. Somebody in fact comes up to him and says you aren't crazy people have been stealing your thoughts in your ideas and that you are destined for greatness. And it's been stolen from him said the rests at the advancers him -- and out too well a person is it true. As -- on his leg. The what do you do about it and me -- reclaim your utilities don't."
" I thought was really cool that was it. We on a guy who's really smart -- potential and doesn't do anything but. You know there's loads of and I also think that everybody feels. What you had and I think everybody's had that experience we've had an idea and you see it -- there and you wish you had -- And -- that plays and that's. And and you just finished up reading in the finals series four for DC to middleman -- you mean you just pretty much in her own world all the time creating stuff."
" I do I do I. I -- studio and I moved from my timetable. So my computer and back and forth and -- until my wife brings the dinner out but the are you are you bomb you script everything out really heavily before -- are you planning you sorted please ago I do pretty and pretty do I do a pretty intense plot. But then what it is a thumbnail. Everything out. And as I I have a tendency to do things in chapters and as I'm not I'm nailing the chapter out. I'll be scripting. It's almost like editing at the exact same time that and development to. So I do an awful lot of that do you marvel style would you say am I am quite happy the -- way up. I really am with my own self."
" That -- on you worked sort of IDC booked for awhile now you started doing a creator on look for while you're doing enemies in -- also correct."
" I belong to studio band the creative than ten minutes a man of action with Steve Siegel Jim Casey and joked -- look like he's yet he took a quick. Plays the most loved man -- with and Tim Casey web the most hated man that we get it all. I don't know if I'm somewhere in the middle I'm the most forgotten man. Can't you --"
" We're all sorts of advertising project I mean is it that must be funny you get to do. All these different things and stretch these different muscles is posted just and linger just writing."
" I I love it. I -- my existence to be able to do that. I really enjoy. Moving from project to project -- after awhile I realize that I wasn't going to be like here -- it is savage dragon and a 180 years he's which is amazing that away. But that's not me right I love moving I'm like a little kid nine moved from project to project. It did and fun career than any chance there and what what's I guess you're working on not -- for the foreseeable future yes. And then then also I have -- several other. Titles that are going to be doing through image. But some of them I'm just writing I'm actually working branching out working with some. Artists of friends of mine that had known for some years and and and do great artist who most of us haven't seen. -- he's truly fantastic. And then I'm doing another creator owned the compromise also as far as publishing goes going to be doing a lot to things like the man of action model you stated you start actually. Oddly enough you're starting at the majors and then sort of moving in the creator you know well you know yes absolutely I mean you started the majors for a lot of different reasons one. Because -- the characters is so great you grew up with them you love them and you want to be part of it right as you move on. And you also want to answer it but not just do -- next great Spiderman. You want to -- that character you want to add things into the world and into the medium and that's where we where we got I think. Where we aren't as good as a studio to. And there coming to the metal men was sort of is not big characters on the that was that something you'd always wanted to work with. What I also like -- also like characters that are. Well there there are -- a better term be characters I love those because in general they haven't been developed and they haven't been reworked and re worked and reworked. So in some ways you're you're you're starting with -- a lexicon but you really do have. You have room were growth mindset of those characters and they're funny and I think a lot of comic books are very dark and it had done this book of the nightmares with very dark. Guts and blood and -- and everything and it really just -- I also -- comic books they're just roms that are just funny and hopefully if I can make you laugh. That that's another part of it. And it just really wanted that. And metal -- was all of those things you know -- wrapped up -- a ball that most people hadn't been using for quite some time."
" it's gone my Joe Casey here for if and here wonder -- talking to a grand Morse. -- We'll find a crisis was not all about. I have -- Joe Casey -- further if and now -- one time and we're talking to Brian bandits and mine now you're not prime vendor sold on the one more time in terms of what's gone on Joe Casey here want to comfort if and now we're talked to Bryan -- on Bryant."
" We hear on the team if you're from -- right guys. -- is the Benetton group a lot of foul on a room and my clothes and any second. About how easily -- inside in my didn't. There's a cleaning up. I mean he's going to talk himself inaugural Starbucks is. That's the first thing happening is he might he might guess -- had a --"
" I think we can't -- it now."
" Which is the but let's. Yeah."
" We're at 2000. Isotope I am lucky to our. You James."
" Adjustments that are -- alumni -- housing and everybody."
" The witnesses not number four. --"
" The GE passport so let's recap the rules that he."
" The heart. -- is always right yeah yeah."
" Sign your passport so everyone knows you. -- actually went there."
" If you need to make a website head over -- these dot com they've got great tools design and builder -- web site and you know the -- right I have one. Josh has won -- around forever forever for the like your -- when you sign up to get free too we trials he tried out if you like it he's the problem by flamboyant and use it for the rest of your life. -- they suck com think he's versus."
" I'm here with right -- large Ranariddh left I'm doing great and you're here are some promoting your newest book with a new version of north -- copyrighted. Going total volume -- of the epic of conduct. And so tell people who have maybe the first one what is Northrop about what sisters. Well north the world as they the mind they fantasies so it's sort of like get. Knights and warriors dressed they went up that the gap. And a World of Warcraft the life and service in world warcraft meets Bruce went blank. So you. North Levine when I was their first public published word came out last year on that they can do. Talk it's about 1113 months -- reach rom Arctic as I switched to drive with a brush. Second volume final quicker. To me about half the year. The what's the difference we have we don't want your belt and start the second one is there are more pressure or is it easier than it is it is happening to her sister defeated -- the first one. Well this was pretty challenging and just than others like that it was. Like both both volumes make up a whole story. And bring -- that story to a close turned out to be a little more challenging and I expect it. But. You know in the end say I made it on my deadline and I was really happy that turned out. So is there more to commerce and even if you close the story opposite mortal -- and more sources tell that world via the mail them out there absolutely is I've been -- sorts areas the whole way through. I was going to be collected in the the next volume caveat to that and I've -- A -- characters from the epic Conrad I want to keep him on not guys I got a lot of stories planet's. The more I worked on it Demorrio opens up -- you work on these books and passenger Judy jobs or other work how many hours days now working on public. -- You know there it really depends on what I've got to get done usually taken I can work on page -- stripped. It's usually about. Florida seven hours -- thought through its parent wants. It is is thankfully I'm married to wonderful woman who tolerates it puts up with -- those all rewarding and probably the book out it's finished and print and it's done. Oh it's it was coming here we're debuting ended one or -- and just seeing it holding in my hands knowing it's been an instance. Best thing you forget all the time at -- on target on its sleeve. -- yet -- him that then they're gone. So is this the -- good union people we see people from all their long look at the book is giving you this is a very popular book and from people who read the first one that's been the reaction effect. I it's been -- the it's really really gratifying now people who for the first look at enjoyed it come up again the second one. And I think -- on -- to. I think it's it's -- just like to know that the series is -- that it's. It's the odds -- growing story. -- you come on that it's a second volume after the first passenger ability improved to do you do you think you notice how you sort telling -- change story you'd -- easier now -- Because when you've noticed so. Oh yeah and it's every time I may I come out the -- challenging. It pushes me and I'm able to do that and you'll do something more push myself more RN. I think it's a really helps because this way. Like I'm not just it's I can focus on Thomas story so I -- in all -- on but I'm also able to. Make this world more alive I'm able to add more people in the background amenable to make places stand out more give -- more character."
" I've gone Nigel Casey here wonder -- and I think there's a lot of media gets here wonder time. The mark Hamels the jackal -- and Aaron -- but -- you would expect Jerry reed is here -- I don't I gotta tell it. I loved -- smoking -- you know he did you snowman is smoking the bandit. And especially at third where you really had to carry the film with that pressure on."
" Hi hi hi I just found I know he does interviews for real and imminent device filled with the business and the hi -- my Romo play like legroom up. For my family and I don't want them when he Nancy you know what on the and I think -- the -- this thing. Illinois. I'll want -- to push. Yeah approach and Jason -- interview and then they expect they wouldn't let me you can -- they had problems the last podcast. So I decided I would just have to do something on my own -- from the guys acted in an interview a candidate running yours and your professional. Like like like well what's I'm not. When you're talking to guests on. You don't don't don't be so managed to him he kind of like don't you know Superman would never do that I would just happened that I mean it's an even if the glaring problem. I mean -- you don't want to come off like the Republican eloquent they're big they're trying to do something special with the story and it showed that aside there it's right like in the coming -- and I was very like. I suppose the moment like we're talking about it okay NN. What what what else would look. Let your good when that interview is like when we're ready bluntly. Quite easily you know it's congratulate them I was so much like the body of work that they've Tomlinson you know he did a great job if you don't like logging. Sometimes you -- it just nice and nothing you know -- you -- you know hopefully. I was trying to choose people that I really -- that in mind if I really don't like -- to Robin Padilla -- so area. Through -- most of what you think. It's. -- You know I mean you know no no you're no you're assault on him right now and be honest I mean it notes at their conventions you want to be enthusiastic. About this until -- not -- not -- Not exactly I would I would just -- numbers but. And and ultimately you know let them like that reminded that you know the stories that's always good -- maybe not you know trustees. You know like ads -- and retirement dinner -- That's a good idea you know that we don't want him about it that's. You sell all of my publisher."
" I'm here at market just not as dumb guy Marcus Harvey winning Mark Anderson at from the popped an anthology comic despray here. So I'm tells about opulent Madonna pop and his comic book graphic mixed tape just -- that the craters that there were the most excited about. Or friends of ours that we've known about for awhile and you know I want to get their work out there and is -- people so it's it's an anthology book and for years tables and anthologies don't work but it seems like pop and is being really successful it is midnight no weren't marketing -- ever put the word Angela Davis that's a great graphic mix tape but. I mean it's been really well and Amazon -- a grave like bookstores -- grade and -- them but you know we're going -- which is that is that it's out next month and then. Her convoy and four and then 56 on businesses those on any set schedule -- just comes -- every as a reading -- about every eight months it's -- amounts. You know it's a pretty hectic schedule to keep -- a lot of work because there there it is even Selig 450. Pages. You know that surprise stressed that the lower at the final product the and you edited so that is so you're basically to review all the submissions that he was going to be and it. Exactly reveals this inspector is going to be an end and then. You know federal. And -- you yourself are they are comic writer as well as a new book come out that's right outside new Brighton archaeological society can prepare like you know coming out and it's a pretty easy buckets and all ages book about like a group kid adventures and their parents give often on an expedition in the Arctic. And so these kids act -- Go pick up that the pieces from their parents and night finished their parents business by defeating their parents' old rival and like getting the library of magic books and all that though -- Really fun book that would do it all ages graphic novels that that's kind of is a tough market to break into. --"
" All right education still here want to -- for if and speaking immediate yes here's one that you wouldn't notice. James Franciscans from -- beneath the planet VA's top accountant let me ask them about beneath the planet yet. You're sort of like the stand in for Charlton Heston you know you with a guide it looked like Charlton Heston wasn't Charlton Heston. Now how was -- worked with Tim hunter."
" and I don't -- right. Dave Johnson. That stuff I would laugh serves as -- he -- a Saturday night undergone its. It's barely even started yet."
" Economists don't. Always read a visual -- and -- it's almost like coincidence because they're sponsoring this episode of iFanboy well do usually just coming in you know this is. A cool little -- coming on the phone it's true you can go to -- comics dot com. Slash FM -- a big list of all of the different stuff they have but you can download the from iTunes your iPhone you get them from wherever you don't wear it wherever you get that stuff in April the it's also a pretty -- on windows and Mac and and you can get all sorts of comic you get stuff from from IW -- missed an image comics. -- five top -- was the title pretty soon. Start -- to the prequel book for the news JJ Abrams movies can be available drivers and give one much of books proof. On there so I get to advertise dot com slash iFanboy -- fullest files you can sign up two win a 350 dollar. ITunes gift card or or for the Google phone it android whatever you do to get there isn't when he wants mines was -- to meet some dude. You have -- and so in the war you do it in the war two doubted that I found its iTunes also. That's that's just me or maybe you've got this one maybe that do. So you can read comics anywhere on your devices or whatever divers Thomas great way to do it and went back a response in the show."
" And now get some -- as governor and like absence during the at this awesome course that. I think he can but anyway tonight and I'm going to help. It but the thing is they had some high paying. There is so."
" That's a testament. -- Yeah why is it hard to be an artist. Yet totally. Let me that's going up but you're very good artist I think yeah. Fellow writer."
" I you American writer. I know. Normally you don't -- that my brain."
" But at the OK so let's think that's -- you don't have a good -- yeah and writings aren't aren't. It's great sound like you're right it's that -- those -- and I."
" You'll see they'll be it they'll be a resurrection of the insurrection."
" I'm here Joe Casey."
" Yes they -- and -- Going in this minds open since it."
" you got. We're we're not at San Diego this is is the usual -- Europe in the Bay Area the first time in awhile for me to do mine. We hear the image Ruth. But you have a marvel book coming out you're your running in the in the dark rain marathon as well -- zodiac."
" Early in the marvel universe Norman Osbourne -- the ship I've heard. And he say in all the other super villains. You now I'm running the show you gonna do things my way while the biggest super villain is into the ultimate. Personification of anarchy chaos. NEC -- with a solid look at that situation -- you know Norman thought you. You know -- become a super villain to be part of your little game. Meet the new boss same same old law that actually yes brought dark -- zodiac quiet you'll love it the -- Nathan fox. Excellent. What I know him from. He did pigeons from hell for dark horse. And this I'm Boston's -- chairs Knight yeah I tend to do that. You get you you're the one who breaks and in as a work I do I do I Rodham bare back to collect prison absolutely. Absolutely it's. Some -- wants to their opera upcoming artists they wanted to be like a prison system their fish you're I break command in the marvel breaks and -- We. Not enough to muck around in the marvel crossover goodness on -- taken over --"
" DV DDC."
" Final crisis strings with -- the -- over there on the taken it over I'm doing one in the aftermath right mini series. Listen we can hash out the details all day you can get to the business I don't I'm not here to take you ship this time. I'm writing one of the DC final crisis aftermath what's -- stance -- super young team Japanese teenage superheroes. Created by Graham or some very cool. -- Now let me question -- isn't quite as you're plugging your I'm here for you you don't want this. We don't need -- So who's the artist on the project the artist is Criss -- And he's fantastic job -- and I've ever seen around for a little while but he's been in humanoid hell for a few. Well many artists it worked for humanoid that are never seen from again for several years -- but now he's back he's back baby if that when you don't get a notes in French. He doesn't know French so maybe that was what teams and getting notes for years they don't know what that says. Maybe that's why it took him three years. So these are these they're Gramm. Breaking even though the book what's happening until I was doing it -- you see them par for the course I guess. But he still -- he's he seems all right with the fact that I'm doing it he wasn't going to do it so wanna. Let me ask you this then -- finished final crisis then you probably read it so what happened. Well. Quick break down just a summary of the events at the end of next godly and look -- Man of action and yeah all you're doing is reprinting old book though -- everybody else is great that new under the table right not to mention my -- late though. How isn't out as a reprint late you know that is ahead -- at. That is ahead stretch of I believe that and I'm not mistaken cutlass is drawn by Charlie admired right. And on the on the on the biggest look images got right now right -- is maybe is he not -- so much time on the whole thing is that it now here actually drew a whole new story. That's we were done last year so again it's tragic it's not your fault and not at all I'm -- chip was done long time ago. Yes you could proceed role with these things man in comics you gotta roll you know that's rolling. We are rolling bomb. God I hope that's all at all it is all. -- yes as well I feel like talking about -- not good enough bomb. You know wasn't as unpleasant as as -- thought it was going to be home I feel like we've. So on red -- would I really liked it and then pox then -- for came out you're doing you're known as an artist what you seems that you do more writing writer artist kind of projects recon from the I pathetic that you myself as a creative lucrative and ever wanted to just do. The United States wanted to do my thing -- likely it's gone that way and yet thank you very much reading them it's I'm getting better -- anymore accident so what well what has been the feedback is not -- saw improvement from warm wood into Oxford what was that the duck and Oxford. Welcome to -- it's those calls doesn't know on stormiest sucks balances that enable the epitome of is is yet and I I read and it but on the incidents -- let's say she sock on the Internet you must be kind of like today -- to visa. " Loving and it's elitist like everyone for the thousandth time that announced aren't -- this is what China. Illustrated by padded up front come out what is that rustic it threw me for a -- I came about because. Various reasons. If anyone follows me on the -- on Sweden. -- I have seen an angry opinions about many many things now -- of some of -- is because I have a unique perspective being a Florida living in this great country that was kind of what outlet and mysterious and you know back in the day when bush was like our priority use if you didn't he say anything bad -- Americans -- say. I didn't want that -- it obviously it out it's nice to my wife is America and I finally here right now I -- like to -- America lately the write about is trying to make things better which some countries a prism and some pounds -- every country. So actually really like history. And American history's really passing as much switching and -- spending history that we never had a -- its determination that a lot of prisoners we had a bunch of we had a bunch of old dates and -- say when it becomes their product so you had a war and had a civil war. We don't do that. So I figured and I sort of -- you presence and how interesting even the ones that have been hit a so I think it is popular people yet considering its pension system. It was -- zooming -- on I did not try to be biased in all honesty which has a lot. On these fights but that's because he did have a lot of things he actually did do for better ways so. Now athletes but decides it's time for at least a problem continues -- and I can updated as long as they want at least that's when he W president."
" I'm here that Brubaker at at the end of the -- you do when I'm tired. That's that's should be -- worked out well on the I guess the big news here right now it is they Angel of death. Is -- it's a web video project. Yet that feature film designed to be shown as -- a serialized on the web search Monday march 2 crackle dot com and obvious on one episode Damon -- you Friday for two weeks. And then when it's all done it'll fit seamlessly together as testament as system a feature that's going to be you know risen iTunes -- Dvd instantly that was it on it was a nice a surrogate get. The different muscles were you do that like that kind of thing as was a comic script. That was a lot of funds you know I you so -- narration in my complex those fund just right and those all dial again. And you know on film as a much more collaborative medium so it's fun to get him into them filming. -- the of the collapsed. A couple weeks ago in New York they'd be announced that marvel universe these invaders project you're doing. I'm not really invaders and now it's it's -- marvels project and its its really sort of a retelling of the early days of the entire marvel universe that's. It's it sort of ends with the formation of the invaders but it's really about all the characters and our cleaners from like 1939 -- like just after. Pearl Harbor. It's a big espionage story this sort of like the Wright stuff. Is that the kinds that the I mean it was and then they approached me at bay tasked to do -- like -- anniversary thing and and you don't have been acting would want to do and I've been researching more and more of that stuff now and really the thing is we all know those characters we don't know you know. What happened to those characters but we've really ever seen one big epic story that shows how they'll sort of fit together what the world was like back then like -- in the way that modern comics are told. Us to be able to go back in -- tell that story is sort of certainly the right stuff for something that for the marvel universe and it's this -- Cold War espionage benefits."
" It doesn't give a real. A hand for an in an affinity for the you know the the World War II parts of Captain America some of my favorite bits of it exactly that was styles line you're -- at drop us on. And and then -- in the meantime -- America still steams forward. How how how long you planning garment that. I have no plans to leave the -- it's still fun and exciting yeah I had to greatest job you know to great job to have. On and then now finally in in daredevil. For us having the leading lady bullseye -- is just stepping up now when. When people heard first that the words lady vols I think people reacted sort of all that but then it turned out to be really interesting story to really isn't character that was cool."
" Yeah you know law prop balky back so I was worried really doesn't do any -- that the -- I mean I knew labels I would vehicle character I mean any people would be like lady vols that. I was just ripping off please no blood you know -- anomalies places today. I mean how do you feel we've been on Captain America for a long time he did on -- don't for a long time -- still excited about working these characters still a lot of stuff to go math yeah I am I I like this on convincing at all I am just thinking about it only has been along time -- right now observed when it out before. Now I you know it's fun to do in your stuff I gotta say you know. About there's a projects get announced in like three or four weeks I'm really excited about you know the models project I'm really excited about. It's always fun to change step up you know. Outlook we're going to -- and their levels that the blast in its -- I'm trying to figure out a way to do something more -- with this story so. And finally -- to be remiss to not mentioning our need help. Yeah that once the data on and that's that's steaming along really nicely on the is that been been funded like sir do different thing with Shaun Phillips and yeah I mean John and I've been collaborating for you know for five years together and it just you know we have we're in such things it was just time to try to do something different -- we've been doing criminal -- a couple of years. So let's do something slightly different that's you know little to -- we get on sleeper and you know. Immediately announced you know not long after sleeper issue was dealt with numbers -- You know like I didn't actually time it that way that it just happened that the and criminal will return yeah -- I was back right after I mean -- You know and yeah you it's criminal beyond yeah it's fun to change this on to do some different to do something different little that is not you know -- people who -- who -- criminal liking -- and open and think on me you know selling you know almost twice as -- as criminal. At this point hoping that'll be able to bring someone of those people back to criminals we started again that Andy's guess is that the industry just needs to have the superheroes maybe. It's across -- there yeah exactly. That problem."
" I just found that Alex Robertson Robinson. He's not he writes on the island. Mr. Mister. Robbins announced Robinson yes I get an idea an interview with people were detected. I'm glad I can't wait dot com okay. Thank you thank you very much itself. I I just then ask you a little bit about your latest book to cool or beyond. For the if you look at there -- and whatever it and it's really neat story don't you read it about this kid who take that smoking and high school. And learns the dangers. Of since right. Not that I liked most about it was spending. -- yeah and he would definitely there's a smoking logo on the block. There's smoking in the woods and around times. But it has night. It's like how your conversations right. It was one of those things. Yeah yeah it looks this yeah its. Program. I'm sorry I'm sorry we can't. -- I like the look alive."
" I'm totally critically doin' good thanks and thanks much for pronouncing my name correctly trying to you know do our best of the pet and take up this. Of course I -- document hand -- one of the most iconic characters in the book come when the -- prepare for the character did you read the graphic -- George W over the script or what was your main inspiration well. You know essentially my my task is to make this script come to -- on the big -- great thing about doctor Manhattan as he sort of since -- inscrutable character and so having that -- source material. Help me fill in the blanks. Was. Well. I don't know was extremely important for me because. You know when you take something we take -- novel and essentially refine it to a poem. It's only suggestive which is when it -- to think about it provocative you know it's enigmatic like office. Puzzle pieces of trying to saw back -- but I definitely use help at some point. -- and that book. Goes much more than are not helping me. So the the book is you know legendary graphic novel and here we are -- conferences is a roomful of geeks is there a lot of pressure about living up to the the expectations of the graphic novel -- and if if there is it definitely now when I'm feeling you know the only field the kind of gratitude that people have for you. Com having. The same level of appreciation for the material. That they do and and the desire to put this much effort into. They're realizing you know vision of somebody else's. Really amazing creation. Of the document is final of the more heady characters so you're able to where are able to wrap your head around kind of the the concept he's talking about. Well needless to say when the quantum mechanics of it where. Or get all my mouth and I like that that part of it spoke to a really interest in physicist who -- also interest didn't superheroes so. -- you is very helpful in helping me down. Answer some of the superficial questions that I had but in terms of things like you know walking on the surface of the sun and that's where you get. Let your imagination go and kind of exotic way and -- what better reason to be an act denial is in the typical kind of superhero he's kind of the regular guy. Considering you know kind of what the stigma superheroes aren't superpowers. -- view on how -- approach that of a regular guy being severe diet cautioned."
" You know I can only approach from the human level I've never played anybody and never played a superhero before and luckily I mean I I guess I can say one thing you don't you don't feel like ever sort of cutting any corners. When you got a role like this that's so well defined and truthfully from me danys probably the most character. You know but it is -- the -- that does usually get a lot of character roles I felt like it was probably one of the most dynamic characters that I've ever played really since. Colleges. I mean introverted lost in the -- Sort of come full circle and and and and night -- being sort of the most I think most confident and strongest side of dad ran most Euro zone."
" And for me he's almost the most -- a character as a whole group of them and so we have had is that playoff you know kind of psychopath and -- back her this -- got a document hand."
" Well I think that's a makes a comic so loss -- as you see how they work with each other you see why he gets because he's so grounded. You see how he understands -- can see their relationship that those are some of my favorite scenes because I think that relationship. It's completely bizarre but really you need somebody like Dan in this I mean -- these characters that's so masterful about the comic to be able to have 67 characters weaving throughout like this but have them all be well rounded. Just as usually happens certainly in the shot her religion with. Hero villain villain number two Obama and -- meaning that and so and others in the wrong way that we used to seeing that but that's what made this so groundbreaking is to have all these complex characters. And and have him he also. Dynamic that's just as easily happen."
" How hard is it -- kind of act behind that mask. Well you know was -- costing me when he faces at all the actor's -- and nobody knows if it's an excellent and so on the and how -- the character is very distinctive at least visually in the competence of his distinctive voice -- trailers in the footage scenes that you nailed heavily padded -- what that process know how did you agree to a gravelly down. And you know this it's and it's an interest want the last question. When I read the graphic novel. I heard that voice. When I did the audition -- I just did -- the process. A lot of times you know what I do as a screen might -- sound so like right where they were all just an -- And you know -- home -- and then and then do it. -- spent hours in the bathroom on the same term over and over again. No comment you know oddly enough. -- harmless little partner and the voice just came in. But the trick on that and you know I'd still lecture. You know. How. And you see the movie get but the trick is is it's really you know from. So the trick is trying to sneak back earn their pitches to him because -- everybody's. You know calls -- BS and and determine the specific and so on so Russia is you know is one of the more you know it's turtles and he's way out there it's crazy it's as the practice psychopath. Not typical superhero. So this is it to the superhero movie suspect -- to doing it or. Yeah I mean everything -- mean you know back to act as making a movie -- you know what is it looks like black and smoke and what's that this does read scripts like only that's incredible read the book is like oh my god it's based on that. That's -- learned about this whole world and just completely drawn into I don't know what it is this this characters them. I mean he's again it's just that it every second as -- in this. You know incredible. Mental pain in. You know it's kind of force that's -- black and -- sense of justice to survive and excellence in and then you know next. And it drew -- I'm here to -- Morgan I don't very well thank you so on so watchman was the biggest Democrat and l.'s all time let them. We must iconic characters is the comedian. I'm happy where when you decide take the role how much the source -- take a look at verses the script -- of inspiration for the."
" I mean it was absolutely the source material was. Descriptive. And I hate to say this is the -- it's a great job kind of adapting with the graphic novelist but it was almost throw enemies in my introduction to it was. Someone Warner Bros. sent me Xerox copy of the graphic novels to have a meeting with -- and I think the next day I had in my meeting and a -- three times meaning many cups of golf simulator and finally went on by the color version and I think -- that thing maybe forty times and when we shot it and we're standing right now fools need to get a day I figured I did find some new and it every summer reading it's an amazing amazing piece of work thing."
" So on your beyond your body work -- kind of typically what kind of a nice guy like presented a really nice guy who guys in this movie comedians not so much of a nice guy how much of is right that -- idea how does that change your approach of penalty after. Well as an --"
" You know really won't do something different one you know -- lovely and denies. You know it's easy because you're trapped in the world live of planes here that are nice and romantic and sweet and hardly want to -- some kind of completely different and and the fact that. -- communion. Got to beat the role. It was my next project coming off a series of movement the colonies. What is what is joy. For one. The complete 180 from what you know me from so room. You know as an -- you can I don't know -- it was question. That that -- enough to and it sent a lot of people like -- the -- anatomy. And they still are and now you -- moments ago from ultimately you know I think -- so -- much to Africa and -- hopefully you know watching -- rumors and people who -- although. You know. Judging from fans reactions from Grey's Anatomy uses that is is not there to kind of film and that's Dole's the other works but that's not how tricky is at the light a cigar the plans are. You know what I did it's easy for me as a one -- deal that. Some of them those in your eyebrows off that."
" The key on here at mollen a Dylan and an excellent so this is a big to do lots and -- And has affiliates of -- such a huge movie with a huge following."
" And even now I really -- I -- It doesn't realize and believe one and I guess that happening. That you know its judgment day is coming. It's exciting intense patients at high. I mean way at."
" I'm excited to happen. So you're characters -- Specter is one of the more of adult complex characters -- her character really focuses on relationships and like universally to possess and that -- into the role or."
" I mean it. Really what attracted me as ways. That all the characters where we're so humid you know I I've seen as a superior -- Superhuman and island verse that. -- this is very much sort of every -- RNC. With her -- and that the company keep this in either. You know this sort of soul searching and trying to think that you aren't mine planning to that and she had. All the things that we really do you mind or that I have. Experienced in life so it was an accident I can relate to it even knows he's crime fighter which -- can't really should look at whether it's. So it definitely attack that they're -- and Eric."
" These aren't things that it's not the typical -- and then -- a barometer Superman that's their thing and the there you know very very human and on -- answer -- so. When you approached the script and you look at it is -- to make that kind of switch to say okay this is the equivalent."
" I didn't I didn't make it because it. -- automatically -- exceed that it's more a character based films than it is anything out bases. I guess he just had to -- had anecdote of people since its own Sean -- not really sweeteners on. Although it is I mean it's so hard to explain part of it but. But I thought that was what was surrounding his house -- So we're here at one of the biggest dimensions of the alleged plot to geeks is a kind of a little intimidating now the people want this to be the perfect movie -- It's also -- I think you know the energy out there it was so positive note. It kind of gets us going get it to an island hopping in and live coming on crime decline you know I just gets. This is where you want to be it's like and not everyone do this -- you don't have the one on one -- And -- but never -- so this isn't news and in doing."
" Some here is that Saturday givens director and -- the operator of lots and he has done. -- I looked excellent so we're here on her time in the movies days away from opening paddy field AdAware you know are we satisfied. I'm I'm simply type in the come out again but you know we've worked out of her so long and it's yes. You know its its point in the game than anticipated jump out there -- it out. Is this I'm I'm really so it's not like this get this kind of throw for the vodka. So for years we've talked about this book and Alison you know it's been in its false starts at the movie was that is the movie that can't be made you guys make the decision to make it what was the point recent Billiton."
" I mean I guess for me partly -- I felt like but I didn't do it. They're really good on the street and do it and anyway and now I mean I have said that. I scooted out there would be me and it it's the movie got made it was good episode -- because they operatives -- it and myself and -- what do it. And it wasn't you know is because I. Also strongly about the material and I was scared to do letters coming. Let you know and it pop culture has come around to this moment in time we talked about this you know there. Maybe before this the movie version of the night -- consummate wasn't ready for."
" You know I've for the success of the Dark Knight is not having success with 300 this and I were and to have -- vision on this. I think she's just the perfect time watchman and yet it feels right it's out now."
" And when the trailer came out it shot -- the rest of the book shut up the ranks that Amazon some of that title is getting people -- people on the subway reading it. How does that feels as your product and people are reading."
" What is right because united Hebrew watched the rewards is the graphic no less less less outsourcing the movie is that if it's a different thing. And it's wonderful the commonly seen people like real civilian vehicle on public trust will -- written an interest rate -- and I mean. That the bond with these things at the end of the -- going to be hundreds of but you reasonable. Partly other works file homeless by me and mobile picnic and begun to put those on the shelves and if apart from the wonderful review -- thanks for the how reliever humans act -- onboard. Well I was very -- on questions huge myself decide that you type premier 300. On what it's psychological. Get up -- and I had a real gut feeling from the Torre indicated that he was the -- to. And it's nothing I've seen both senses -- that kind."
" like United States it is suggesting he should say. You know just just about like. The book and the movies their relationship in that I really do feel strongly that. You know it in the end you know people's eyes when they locked out of the movie you know I -- now if you go if you haven't read the book you know created you if you're reading it Vietnam's intimately but. And I think -- say it. That's supplemental experience that's not a you north."
" That's no wonder caught in the -- great time great show hello I would have loved. We did have some fun and now a lot of people of their term future four if you want to wear your -- noticed that -- was worth it when it comes -- stored. On her shirt limited edition firm assurance that their -- associated with the movie the we. There's little legalese about news. So I got hit by a fourth a store specific questions about the show or want to you know type in what you thought of us the interview stuff you've also contact us and what dot com. -- club was a -- 88 and boys want 883262697. And that I that would accomplish more for their confidence also knew what was division three dot com -- iFanboy. If you're sure every week we have work you're the."

It anyway so. Thank you. -- I feel uncomfortable some event couples left."
" Asked me if that's the beaches and again yes multiple times now and the a blank you it is there now and on New Yorkers I think like three times those things on this hour of it exactly sit -- sorry that -- that you're not actually an official guest -- the time -- hear I guess the comes up close. I was lucky enough to you have the becoming Sorenstam skeptical -- office bring light beam me up and I migrants come -- and I'm -- and not really an undoing one signing. That it says politicize science that we gonna talk to. But coming apart from a few little critiques people who really enjoyed it the -- This I think the people like me have stopped. Even trying to -- so any about the -- And I'm lucky to have enough people that duplicates. The -- very distinct parts file Bryant and it looks like it looks like you have a lot of fun drawing the product of too much alcohol and heroin. Are deployed last year -- at U designing an isotope and now I -- first to Richard felonies that to to a vampire. That's enough felonies that the -- of -- you have more fun drawing the bloody vampire in it was because -- easily get through his memoirs but it reached during which it fell is actually. It's very simple and kind of boring really innocence I mean you really want but -- Aaron that -- itself but everybody loves fell and it's been ages so what's the what's the hold up as a warrant be honest."
" Loving and it's elitist like everyone for the thousandth time that announced aren't -- this is what China. And I don't pretend to speak for him. -- What I know officially that I'm nine is is not dead it's simply frozen like John wind from the Denis -- so. On the going to bring him back sometime that. Basically the barn and a whole -- my computer hassles and stuff and it's really have the right in the nicer visual story. That works beating a sixty kind of agreed sort of thing not -- sixteen pages -- outside. There will be more coming when he's got harmony -- bicycling and I'm standing ready. Ready willing whenever that would be so you maybe your room I don't know -- I could not having no idea it's not dead people come back. Support -- one yet and it doesn't I don't stop nagging at it. He doesn't really respond moment that you probably will simulate it hit me. But a truck so a couple -- doesn't like comets or and I saw this book of portraits of American presidents. The don't know any of those. Chris and some stories so why not do it more serious book where -- can -- a nice portrait in my style but it respectful and give a bunch of the basic fact Sony's president. And it didn't actually having to do with the election coming up that was just decent time and time again it was just that don't interest on my eleventh district so quickly and you wrote all the profiles and as well you do Donald -- I mean there was some editing involved from the production people but.

Awesome show, so jealous of Ron for getting to meet the Great One, aka Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Also Mike was hysterical, great humour in the con shows this season

"The comic pimp. James is a former swank bartender who is known for his fine taste in suits, his appreciation for outrageous nightlife, and for his never-ending comic book enthusiasm. James can be found dead center anywhere that exciting culture is happening, indulging in exceptionally rare adult beverages, or rocking the bass and synth in his atomic space rock band. Featured at the Isotope all the damn time."

James seems like a nice guy, but his hair freaks me out....I'm sure he gets that all the time.
But yeah great show guys, this was EPIC! Ron you totally are the master at interviews at the moment, you did so many and did such a great job on them.
Ben Templesmith was my favorite part of the show btw. He seems like such a great and funny guy; plus that President's book interested me. I'll probably pick it up next week at my LCS.
