Your E-Mails and Voicemails About Comics

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009 – running time 32:25
It's that time again! You wrote and called into iFanboy and we're answering your questions about how long it takes to read a comic, who should play Captain America, what comic book convention you should go to and more!

First up is Chris from Minnesota who asks: "How much is too much?! How often is too often? How much are people willing to pay to keep current on a title?

Next, Brett from California asks: Who would be better to play Captain America in the movie? Marc Blucas or Adam Baldwin?

Next, Drago who has recently started to read Spiderman asks: Do you have to read all the bubbles or can you skip the blabber? Will it affect the understanding of the story?

Up next, Eric asks Josh whether he's pissed off at the omission of Hawkeye from the Avengers cartoon and the upcoming Avengers movie?

After watching the show on Grant Morrison, Marianne asks Ron which he'd rather buy: New X-Men or Ultimate X-Men? She also wants to start reading more DC titles and asks if JSA is a good book to start on and if so, which trades to start with?

Alicia from New York asks: Apart from "The Sword" what else can iFanboy recommend by the Luna Brothers?

Ben asks: As a comic convention virgin, which is the best con to go to? Start small or go for broke at San Diego?

Lastly, Darrell from New York comments on Action Comics and Secret Six.

Okay email -- tennis -- thirty seconds have a question. McCain you -- it's always questions. I didn't realize they were -- combination yeah lots of them. Specifics Medicare costs are not gonna guarantee a fast response. I'd like comics what you read. Wide open. Question he had never read Marvel Comics before we're start -- what do you want what do I want. -- the most entertaining. -- it's me ask -- once. Don't -- of the U. This a little -- is brought to you by godaddy. And the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration -- need to buckle up and."

" Welcome iFanboy V comic. Book discussion video -- from the website -- dot -- all those words were -- through the guys that isn't -- delivery I'm John Flanagan is -- you know who that is over there I've got -- Kilpatrick that is not Ron Richards and Canada at the end of every show and -- you what you write -- call -- it's now and we thought we remembered that. It's only effective. So lots of them. So on so we -- real answers and your emails voice mails and controversy."

" Our personnel -- did you bring me a lot to go here and there was lots of calls and we're gonna call home. All 85 this is seventy. Chris from Minnesota. Who heads the seventeen and let them what do Cobb he says and us readers complain about a book like -- expired a matter of losing 33 times a month as being too expensive. I was in the gripe still enjoy the series might have batteries they realize that network at Barnes nobles. That the router it was a busy losing four digest sized -- per month. For at least the next three months whatever he wrote the each of these are around twelve dollars -- but over a 104 dollars and three months to keep colonel one title at -- How much is too much come -- too often how much are people are pursuant to pay in order to keep current title. --"

" Let's just that's -- it really makes the top ten New York Times marvelous. Just eight times eight -- bought. Right answer and that that's key there yet it's a good question because I'm one of those people that I was like I let them -- Spiderman but I don't win the lottery is that all I want to spend that much more room on the month because it's not it's more than that but if you if you roll back to our two hours two years ago people were violent launch that people are buying an inside and its effect if Letterman you partisan thing they say yeah stealer this. Separate license fees none and well it like China eating right I didn't do that I do not see it is you can pick and choose what I remember that like spectacular Spiderman my sock it. So I read amazing Spider-Man and he sometimes it rebounds -- but he didn't have to read the law currently -- was. Thing going so."

" Well it's a favored on what -- title. That's really a whole other ball -- Pledge and that's what's your favorite. Policies got six scalps they said it's gotten out cut it as she's coming up. Many many trades three times a month for twelve dollars trade but it's -- like. So you're getting the ten bucks each ten bucks -- times three times a month you know what honestly I would feel like that's too much like I couldn't keep up with some -- that -- like. -- a lot. And and what they mutilate have to do with me -- have less words sure to resume a career best for Philip Condit. Let's say it's. Five don't many trades five dollars five dollars each. 300000 months."

" I might be done that as long as it stays good but the thing is -- and -- like it. And it's Asia and that's I think that's the X-Factor you know in any have to you have to wear them for you obviously like slightly Spider-Man I've heard. I think magistrates and some bad -- McConnell so long Democrats aren't can't maps and I want to that they won't comment gets mad. You don't realize it re away you just that like it's slowly diminishing return and the more than they pump out the more they come back. It's wonder what people want than general volumes that we -- that we love and as much yeah I want I want to hear the -- and returns it off the rails now. Like how many a fault on set before his psyche compared volume in 52. You know way you know at at what point -- did you stay consistent because all ahead but only -- I don't know. That was Ron Richard I was getting out and -- to say that like this is is there a point where mom drops on read enough to know you know. What does that no volume twelve moms that is equivalent to. I don't know that I had a mean there is anything right and cost less now."

" I think -- to call -- back it up amongst different because it is -- and I think it's probably. It's adolescent lust I don't want to diminish that but it's -- let's click on the page rank this more action anymore."

" Well it'll ask you this what's it what what's the title that you love that don't you know -- loved what you like what's what's on this sort of comes out that likely know I can't cut taxes by nine X titles every month. Okay right but. And only one of those imagine that if would you want uncanny X-Men come up -- then of course who have expire. And into the united."

" But tickets if you -- about -- expert I think if you don't count tonight. -- books together now they're 01 story -- that that basically the same thing needed chances basically. X-Men every week for that price for the sake lot of pages I guess what I I'm going to be more sense. If aren't. They got some really it's it's almost almost for the for the Batman stories are all together to -- towards almost -- same format X Spider-Man and a an event -- books are altogether so almost like it's happening anywhere but just smaller pieces in the."

" Have to be good though -- can pass because anything that and it's hard to keep those plates spinning it that same time you know like when there was like those Batman stories that we go over all four titles via every week. It didn't elect when he was good about -- this is actually really good but eventually got slowdown. Get off his question is how much is too much how much you can afford and houses too often it's how how how how how much he take it day. And it doesn't reading oval ones I don't want -- that's an important. And getting them. Lets you -- voice now. -- criminalist -- of these so. You have to do we give -- cinema. It's not connect."

" I wouldn't read from California and I'm driving to work and I'm looking year's show."

" And I just heard the voice mail about who should play Captain America."

" And I've actually had to like it let me know what you think. Mark Lou."

" He played Writely in that but these soldier boyfriend from poppy seed and four and five I believe."

" And Adam Baldwin from firefly serenity -- shot. I can't figure out who which one that the role more complete let me note there. Hell I gotta get close -- by the cops are."

" So cool he should've. Left the call opens yeah we're gonna hit only viewed then you can counter man the 32 rule if there is law enforcement yet totally just leave the phone oh -- ought to honor laps or ticket exchange."

" So how -- your courage you couple weeks couple weeks months back on the on the assembly audio podcasts the question roses who should play Captain America in the movie."

" Threats -- being you did it whenever the question comes up you get. You get them. Whenever -- actor you've seen last minute because his blogs so nasty season all he's suggesting Riley from both this guy's shoes Buffy very I -- he's he's we cannot do because this is -- lament mobile also -- Management was in part what the value I didn't change yes we are -- and I -- We need to. Either one of us would be in I don't know with a first person is he sees no -- what he's -- yes -- just scientists do it was on Buffy I don't see. Motion picture actor. It would be a that is -- two seasons -- I'll be -- Captain America yet if you don't have a bigger well now not just outside and that's right there's that's -- yeah it. I don't know it's -- and I look -- bottles out of all the tools. He's in his forties dead and he's not any there's not he's not right he's not graceful he's rebellious SEC -- to -- I don't know if he's not that's. -- my -- as a sort of like kimbo -- the ice so let's assume my Clinton kept her. To be somebody that. That I you know kernel org org and our form wouldn't wouldn't approve love and then when you actually see in the in the massive like golf and it's going to do whatever that is yeah -- What's sad for -- the blog every tropic thunder but in the end it's. He's really frenetic. If it's especially about. It well the rules are to be like in a movie the B grade messaging hasn't yet. -- The capital letters that come out of nowhere is gonna come left in the morning yes it's you know. Or illness and like botnet -- yet that he was born again he without Jordan in the project -- he was very good but. Drag ghosts. Good democratic -- by the way."

" drag it says hey guys I'm a big mega mega reader. Let us of the language on these and -- haven't turned off by now for our like four years not to stop it said Henry -- Spiderman. -- With a great patience endured endured they are at an outlet a hot issue 140 plus seasons in the beginning I think he got that probably got that is a lot do what -- Coming -- a dvd we can but it's it. Most vicious part of this thing is that it takes a lot of time to read an issue ten to twelve -- with monger I could read it 200 tribute page volume of forty minutes. There's a lot of text in the pages of most of this is worthless flapper stuff like not want to jump over his head. My question to you is. Do you have -- all the bubbles or can I skipped the blubber. Will it affect -- story to more recent comics read faster because -- in twelve minutes for one has given us a lot of time."

" Okay. -- to issue is at fault here at fault it it it play here and why I love you. -- Reading holds daily comics which. There are a lot of words in the they're not really indicative of what common and normal talking right it's it's over the top so you can either go with that are not however. But later man. Half of 1012 minutes for comic it. Lots of reeboks that they had to issue if there were any faster than what could -- net and no one does not enough hours in the I did that trust me I get them we're better than most people would and -- Thank you says he's rushed into the mom due to a muscle -- that are let -- reads really quickly now what is a 4040 minutes of the long time for two pages of the Tipton who saw them. It if it's a different culture. In other -- that called zero you know there's no patients and in India and short attention clearly talking of them kids that -- come out on. It's it. The thing is if you're gonna come and cultured -- old Marvel Comics odds that it ended here and that's dropped I mean I agree I do applaud disarming from the beginning that's that's I have the Spiderman autos and -- that I've lived through this season like this it's tough and let's let's I'm on the -- pharma is among my component."

" But even modern --"

" they've made -- letter that was my main thing."

" Comics -- have to do just that but yeah it's it's. All day because all day that -- the crowd."

" All day that there. Issue that is just him out of my you. And the other way it was like the new one yeah. Let's get ready to. We can't answer your question I."

" Comics I have followers were still -- and -- minutes that's -- it takes to read."

" It does abusers I -- that."

" It's accomplishing much less to read them like -- like -- price to go see a movie it's 48 minutes long and difficult to hell man so yeah. That's a -- and doing a little bit hit and run enjoyed life Dawson. -- sixties comics in modern times in different experience catch up in the ticket and enemies fund managed economy even as humans back to fifties that was the start if you want. So right now you made that up for lessons and activities and I want to get up three countries Lester. Larson. Later -- Washington money. Reese. White House."

" When he -- nerd alert that credit electorate others. Its when it. 300 around was the first -- has MacFarlane. Goes Enron collapses of her hundreds -- McFarland come through eighteenth nineteen. We're taught us while we're on commercial old get -- a."

" And -- in the NHTSA want to remind you to buckle up. I mean seriously don't wear seatbelts into dozens of Malone seatbelts have been estimated over 15000 lives an additional 5000 lives have been saved the simple -- of crashes. So avoid a ticket save your life. Buckle up."

" Dude. Who seat notes we know seat -- theater don't elect cops are just written lest you. Food that's going to hurt. Collect your card ticket the so and the second lowest now -- jobs."

" It to their -- I have a question for Josh. As a fellow Hawkeye fan are you this stuff that he's not in the lineup redo that cartoon. Or with the upcoming avengers movie."

" So Hawkeyes not in the lineup for the cartoon or the upcoming Batman movie. -- the lineup out from the -- nothing gets. It's about it is that like scared it popped right there are characters. Probably if not the most there partners. Very little that pissed me off -- about his inclusion Rex might look this is well it Ronan what -- I just ignore. Because as you move a little bit deep doubts and he's not will change. You follow Obama -- you can do one little -- in a fan boys in the it is. In the back there working towards that the whole time. You know -- be fun. In the marvel avengers movie -- to not care who watched it. -- That's not -- it's it doesn't affect me you be doing you know it's it's possibly dozen people importance I'm not I'm just it just it hard to make it -- judging. A not spectacular wants her to and I says regular rental and maintenance. Well mitigate the potential of economics one well that they come from before -- children who put it's thugs and I suddenly. They he -- the movie but I. Almost guarantee that it did the movie do go to the person who should play and Robert that -- Yes. It's easier he's easier task then you would like -- He's not really archives of things."

" Room in the -- What. I didn't know. It's it's being much easier caps half -- Barton -- the road if that that's every you know you is that that. That -- for equality and -- consul quality and a -- could almost put up yeah. These little he's not all of them out from mainly. Puppets ultimately -- problem look at I guess we'll -- from right. I think gene that's what's in my head but -- almost Clinton more much more so of the cap to put up on what can I think. What's his name. The other guys really make it. Yeah yeah I'll watch is. What does it. You know is meant that that all of that and at all I'm emphatic that. Allen direct the kind of play August quite yet they'll -- not tough enough to open up that -- it's hard that's my chest. Socket casting that's why women do casting and those casting. Girl from prior agreement. There move from looters me. Or daughter away what else went -- yeah I really have ever seen. -- so you're not so it might get a -- let's sit -- a little cool little this is why it wouldn't happen because. Going to be people doing really there's going to be called Captain America. Yeah black widow and a roll your own message to do read everyone's -- except -- that the that the boots -- the big man. Itself or that good Burton costs on cool. Kids and young avengers and that's -- the girl -- bishop. She's talked -- I'll have to she's not exactly what if Ronan was in the that would suck and that. I would not tell us how we think this that's the that -- my father amounts have been -- And it just totally -- come out pocket like that it helps coordinate the justice at all that would be awful. I happen Marianne rights I have two questions one Ron I watched the showed remorse and where you showed your dislike of new X-Men. -- us wondering if you had about either US and -- ultimate -- and which would you buy. Also canceled so it's loss in the savings and he went back and had to get one of the five years ago the questions the question."

" I'd have to go Morse is a this really gotten way out of."

" Yeah -- and -- so look. His -- that is aberrations instantly interpretation relate like it or not Morrison's office sentence. Also I don't even a budget and light there's a little something that could."

" This is -- accident is that it was good agreement I I don't did not like it crashed lies and when that was insistent artists all dressed up it was Susan -- it just wasn't my next. And that's that's slightly different on the whole time -- not so much time not so much they like that would not look like I loved it no but I mean it is having the it's it was the same artist of the whole thing he still did things he didn't. I repeat my childhood and then I was solve problems that is been brought."

" I hate that glad that it that's risk that is if you travel -- attacked it's still there -- issues just -- still there he's team with a mission to kill gene. So -- knows everybody and I'm here. Out of this story to be old Phoenix -- back to the -- extremists. While I don't ever but I didn't I didn't really like Vietnam. Yeah on the -- I really do like -- Ryan and in this exhibit at the question about the 111 are solidly within. It's like an -- starts don't set anything had acted on that sentiment slipped verdict and now. Our second question -- how to read much of DC regular budget today. I was wondering if it's a good book to start -- and if so what trades should -- at Johns run. -- this the most recent one because that's where I started you can follow from has likened the experience. I don't know what that's called -- I'm sure there out in -- like one other. Let me the issue numbers are only in the twentieth so there should only be -- for us to war three fortunate you could probably go find -- that that the DC slower than two maybe three that's bomb. -- particular issue that's what I -- the lightning something that the first properly -- it was a lightning market and it is the kingdom come mark I can't comps and it's really to to store to totally debunked it today. Great book it's great. -- You can grab read up Chelsea then there's an argument point of order justice society American firm -- you say the old -- route the call that's available now netbook. Important note believe it's -- I Tomlinson now."

" Hello I'm -- the least I'm calling from the -- And I recently just read them the -- tree though the site other than about -- an army. Recommended allow that governing mr. And I want you have you had a bad I don't recommend anything out they ran on in the back of the trade. That they out over a period called computing called the goat and ultra. And if you -- Devin -- would recommend picking them or that he knew of anything out they had -- like. Any other. Thank you very much."

" Well the back of the trade really sums it up there. Now there's one -- vomit and there are going to use that if you really like the sword. Definitely without adapting an ultra levels that was a fresh one it's and it's small trickle effect was -- regionally. It's great self contained story really really really funny Eagles on the girls was -- much longer drawn -- or girls. Of the -- her -- girls and it was a much longer grass or that was miserable to read an issue. But they've done it in a big kind of oversized hardcover collection. That is beautiful and altogether reads much better than an -- so you really make them spend the money -- that -- just -- paper records if you like the actor drama -- that is all both of them. Urged by a hunter all book do it stick what it's like having one volume yeah there are through it as it looks really -- and -- to that. Girls is different than sort those not. -- no actually girl is -- probably the most different culture is okay let's order bolts kind of have a lot of violence on looks different a quick summary of what girls this is what. -- and girls that is a small town and this woman's naked woman appears and she sorts fawning twins of terror and these are killing all the you men intent Hannah yeah of the women this account and basically it's protective bubble -- had ever been trapped in the town while they're going to slaughter by these girls. And it is some sort of weird fetish it meandered a lot in the story but it was really do if there are articulate our successes."

" Whose ultra I've read and a long time but remember it being about a team of super hero who. It talks about her relations problem yet what happens is this -- but it's a corporate approach to superhero who works for a company as a superhero. And Emma who she's sleeping with gets out the tablet yeah it's more about celebrity culture it's -- yeah than what you should read it and but it's not on the back of -- books it is is mentioned is indeed a spider woman origin prime minister -- Yeah right that SpinRite that in the northward -- authorities -- uses a right what went on to lance wounds and wounds -- into the hall. That would -- Let's who dignity than it is to those which affected initiatives and particularly the last one okay bet right that happens let's -- this. I added to the time a commercial break they might be I think commercial break come back after this."

" If you're doing let's say you need to register domain name -- hosted by tools to build a website you can do all that at godaddy.com."

" And better yet use coupon code iFanboy latency 10% off all your purchases or -- for some other deals that revision3.com. -- godaddy -- all -- at a coupon codes. We want you to save money. Glad he's the best place that registered opening set up web sites to head over to godaddy.com and get your -- today."

" Turns out August it happens yeah."

" All my -- On a website. It's sad that didn't even check the."

" Just read the first thing -- believe that with the -- got a point back. I'm sorry that it really got. I think that's all of Benton vet dad says my fiance and I talk about comic conventions we -- an agreement to go to a comment imagine. A lot of the coincided vacation destination we could do more things just convention. So here's the what the problem. Well we'll call my life changes going on marriage moving your job -- error and financial investments for cotton would require. This would be one of the only chances to get to a comic convention. For a long long time it's -- have never -- to a comic convention before sort of become -- convention -- the process of San -- are intimidating. A what did you guys but some -- what would as the -- thing I'm going next year. I show you my first may be only conventional small accomplish -- go for broke grow a pair of break the waters of San Diego."

" And this was if you've only got one shot an -- try to do your wife to dig it. Don't go blow it the mid Missouri -- go to holocaust. Went -- holocaust connection it's at its worst that I. I don't like what you say okay. Yeah yeah we've got one shot you go there everyone has to go is over without saying something. She's going to have well yes. And the thing is if you go to some. DT -- combat that is not going to happen the other point is that -- argument that he doesn't exactly that uses seaworld. You know the zoo -- Yeah well not now the border what is Sarkozy and we learned that the heartland. WX is a lot of stuff to do Zandi is beautiful -- I'd on the company's vacation com."

" We weekends ago all right the pats got up early -- vacation they stuff and -- and just a threat to the small cons are just comics and boots. And if your wife is an -- to it on. Out of -- rule first till you make yourself now that never get to Colorado and San Diego it's all -- the stuff to see do this movie stuff there's there's all kinds of different things are people who aren't on."

" Our next to be devil's advocate you've also overwhelming who is also overwhelming that you could choose to go to Seattle -- silicon and -- slowly talent although I would -- San Diego Seattle for the mission you can go to Chicago. -- to do Chicago museums things like that -- a few pounds and Chicago. New York I don't know where you're from New York person in the world events of Saint Louis you don't accept until he -- right -- I was beautiful place to go doubles okay. Com so. Yeah so they get ready. And so the thing is that there are other cities with Greg Kot mountains but for your bank for your buck saying Leo is that it's a World Series of confidence since you know and I mean San -- it's that it's -- it's like. 72 degrees and beautiful dance veteran -- knows that this could I mean. There's not a baseball game going to be sort of heal the world vacation yeah rain snow and Armenia Chicago's trackside with easy. You know I mean it's a pizza like hide -- is good and everything on people's outside but what."

" went out there."

" We're gonna Q is it isn't going to call psychiatrist and he even when it comes in -- that corresponds up. The old dad dad violating any ads in Orlando and he should talk a little icon and a half out. Well it is a -- yes that lets them that's for years that was one of -- the sole reasons with the San Diego was to get in -- now."

" So what San Diego everybody trusts experienced a bit like -- Alexander white fortuitous that -- more than current middle. Yes I just read so it's your turn it. Remembering -- lost the -- was only let's innocence legal persons is let's does this like an ambush what's -- it's. Ace Josh Paul -- said. That's ever that was -- all right well let. A solid -- awkward way I think that most read certain. What -- mind if we're gonna answer it and to."

" really enjoyed it. Same direction that. So I'm really enjoying the and comics. With Greg rock and in the revelation that -- our. I'm really Philip K -- I mean deputy. The book he not tell -- that don't."

" He drives what is. Oh god I and so right -- did not like started but it. It's. He ExxonMobil up slowly -- that's the book and -- and look up stuff that -- on the bar that. Let me tell you about my wife that's what happened at the bar."

" we Columbia -- say a long time caller into the audio -- you check and whether. But you we might have been drinking."

" By the way Signet six -- July on August then August and the books monopoly year. -- but it's Lizzie heard her and you've made a pledge from us thank you gotta read and review it and the."

" The secret 61 of the books at people and FM and a cop or possibly say we need to read on those treated because it doesn't mean that president -- made a -- on the audio shows we have it on tape it's on all archive. But he will read the first trade and you'll -- I thought let's let's roll the audio. -- So that's that's going to happen action comics and Josh are reading it and -- you know the wholesome man who cooked up things -- great. But action comes particulars but really strong."

" And this is and it's making it better than in this Mo Rocca rocket bring -- all the energy my favorite writer rather. Key he's being sort of espionage elements of the story which is actually -- a new planet. None or actions here actions here was an implant that's good to prevent world of new crypto that's that this person that everything officer. Care. Nightly fire burns -- clambered -- yes. Bird really should check clears his creative like in the sixties or whatever reasons for bird like that any worse than it does not decrease is that it. Now that it's it's it's a you know it's -- it's a strong. It was not -- the door else did it's it's that these two custodians who are earth. For hunting down the road course Tony source sleeper agents -- because there's a group. The Tories came back -- planet there's a budget could tone it may -- Martha Phillips sleeper agents but I'm kind of like. You know. Welcome Tate modern day terrorism but -- that they've acted at the parallel name war now -- sleeper agents. Ortiz Spitzer where animal talent and so we're absolutely true experts -- And since -- would always -- yet -- Arco are now. They're all blonde. Like Nazis which was its losses actors or to run directors now."

" If you would like to get on our next email is now all -- You can call us. -- 88 and noises when aid through to 66 and seven. You can send that email to contact an iFanboy. Dot com which is well -- on the brat doesn't it or not TV contract the -- have gotten me let me work. And to see all this discussion it dot Mobi."

" To hear our weekly audio show -- which we took opens voicemails on top what these books you can go to him what -- comments will be discussion in the show on the of which we idea showed the pick of the week on the book of the month all the great discussion stuff have a veteran but I -- No and I I -- that is not."

" So let's -- yet in the sponsored listings are all -- Not no paper view. He's not."

" We listen we need better fitness this this can't be an okay if you."

" Yeah."

" Are we spoke what are all these things. We -- cancer and use them. We asked the descended. I never get the kind of voice and doesn't want from him.

You know. Episode 122 - Your E-Mails and Voicemails About Comics [Discussion]

Next, Drago who has recently started to read Spider-Man asks: Do you have to read all the bubbles or can you skip the blabber? Will it affect the understanding of the story?

Up next, Eric asks Josh whether he's pissed off at the omission of Hawkeye from the Avengers cartoon and the upcoming Avengers movie?

After watching the show on Grant Morrison, Marianne asks Ron which he'd rather buy: New X-Men or Ultimate X-Men? She also wants to start reading more DC titles and asks if JSA is a good book to start on and if so, which trades to start with?

Alicia from New York asks: Apart from The Sword what else can iFanboy recommend by The Luna Brothers?

Ben asks: As a comic convention virgin, which is the best con to go to? Start small or go for broke at San Diego?

Lastly, Darrell from New York comments on Action Comics and Secret Six.

Maybe it's because I'm worn out from running a garage sale, cleaning the roof in blistering heat and boxing up tons o' crap for donations but this episode was just what I needed. The looseness, goofiness and spontaneous laughter had me smiling and chuckling.

Video podcasting, even more than broadcast TV, brings the "stars" into our homes giving a sense of familiarity. The iFanboys are like buds, pals, mates and chums to people all over the world. If you get a chance to spend time with them, you'll learn that their friendliness isn't an act (well, except for Conor who'll slide a shiv between your ribs just to see you bleed).

Here's to more "loose" shows. C'mon, it's BBQ time. Sneak into the backyard of old man Eliopoulos and grill up another meaty episode.

Meanwhile, one caution about taking one's wife to San Diego Comicon: How is she with crowds? But if she agrees to go, make sure you plan some non-convention downtime - maybe on Saturday. Don't wait to do your vacationing until after the con because you'll be worn out.

I haven't watched the show yet, but to answer your question, my bride to be is good with crowds. In our loose discussions that we've had so far, we were thinking that the con would fall in the middle of the vacation, but you bring up a good point. Thanks!

Are you talking about this year? Only Thursday and Sunday are currently available, which solves the "worn out" problem.

No, more down the road. Maybe next year or the year after. We're in a huge transition phase right now with moving and getting married in the next two months.

The entire Hawkeye casting bit was classic.

And yeah, Justice Society is a great read. JSA had some amazing arcs. Princes of Darkness and Black Reign are excellent.
