It's time for the iFanboy Book of the Month for July and this time aorund, Ron has decided to go with the Starman Omnibus Volume 1, collecting the first 17 issues of James Robinson and Tony Harris's epic of Starman from DC Comics

Starman tells the tale of the reluctant hero, Jack Knight, as he takes the mantle of Starman from his father and defends Opal City, all while keeping his day job and never wearing a costume. Writer James Robinson and artist Tony Harris did this epic hero story in the mid 1990s, and its finally collected in this hard cover edition, collecting issues 0 through 16. One of the best stories of the 1990s, the Starman Omnibus is a must have.

We if we get introduced a guy named Jack Knight who is the son of the the first US Army and Ted Knight. And he is not really your your typical hero type as the reluctant hero we've seen the reluctant -- been written about before but never before vaccine have been executed as well. Jack Knight doesn't really care for hero and he doesn't want to wear costumes they -- you know leather jacket and a T shirt goggles is kind of counterculture was here type. But what's interesting is that he takes on his father's mentally helps save the city of opal city. And then he -- continues to be star man but he keeps his day job and he keeps that he tries to keep his life and checked. While this world of super hearing and enveloped around him. On is really kind of interesting take on the superhero kind of paradigm. On and it and it -- said he grabbed me I couldn't put this book down. The on the buses a new format from DC it's hard -- not oversize like the absolutes -- the on the buses that program marvel. But it is very comprehensive this contains seventeen issues starting -- issue zero through issue sixteen of star man. On and they're going to be publishing the rest of the via the entire run -- these nice kind of library edition -- versions. The art by Tony Harris he might enjoying currently on X Martina is really interesting look at Tony Harris is an artist who's really refined kind of a photo reference in style that's not going to. Here this is more sketchy it's more accomplished like plot more dynamic and messages to see how he's involved -- the past 1015 years and is art from storm and through book like -- that's not -- So if you have rats -- manager fan ADC. You really should pick it up if you haven't if you're not a fan DC be your fan of general kind of you know kind of reluctant heroes in and kind of -- superhero stories storm in as one that you should check out I wish I was reading it when it came -- back in 1994 when I was young and -- and I now.
