Next Big Nashville takes place in the Capital of Country Music, but the
five day festival celebrates the range of music in town. NotMTV checks in
with the creator and brings you a few bands that brought different sounds to
the party.
This week NotMTV takes you to Nashville, Tennessee for the second annual Next Big Nashville. This festival featured over 130 bands across five days, but only a dozen or so played Country music.
So what kind of not-country sounds did we find in the capital of country music?
Some pretty different stuff, like Spring Hill Spider Party's electronica, Plastic Clap's self described 'booty tech' and Cage The Elephant's... we'll called it indie-phunk.
To round things we grabbed NBN's creator, Jason Moon Wilkins to get the story how a one night concet to celebrate "a banner year for Nashville's rock/pop/indie community" grew into a multi day festival.
