A lot of people still have a lot of confusion about masks what they do with so and so forth who wanna do today than it creates some masks and these masks and I would be -- master going to be actually how to count mass."

" To create an effect. Now. What I did last Saturday work. How about alpha channel and layer mask to use the same concept. Of the two different purposes. Where things are white the things happened whipping the black if things don't and they are grazing between 254 levels of -- a total of 256. Levels. From black to white. Now in a layer mask. Where the -- asked is why you see the contents of the layer where it's black you don't see. The level of gray in between it will give you -- level visibility deduct 50% -- even see the contents of that layer by 50%. Now in an opera channel same concept applies before different purpose and -- asked us to see the contents of delay or hide them. In the alpha channel its its election. Is a way of selecting. When you select something that area is segregated from everything else so that you can apply something to that effect bright -- in there now. In an opera channel where it's quite that's the area that's selected where it's black that's the area that's protected level of gray in between. Level of the effect whatever effect filter 88 and colonization whatever is -- do Photoshop it happens to a selection. -- specialize selection in enough account. Now we're back in episode nine -- into detail on these things but I wanna discovered him again here and now we're gonna apply them for some weird little stuff. All right so to hope evidently is just so you could see the -- so now look at this seven -- around with it I'm gonna take my W here. I think the W and which is -- bigger."

" Come over here and we'll say scale that path which is gonna kind of pulled his W up like that. Make a nice long maybe a little wider. But I bet that looks good. And that's gonna benefit could return on that and -- might want to go when -- just have a little something extra here so it just. Creating little box go straight across to here. Go down probably angle of that W there and go back across and close -- off -- my goodness. Kind of little logo going on here it's opens up a little bit I'm gonna pick the entire path. Don't need it because we don't even that -- that right there would do the whole thing here on this image but take this image and do some stuff to it so. Going to duplicate that layer to to have it there because it will do something -- that one later so."

" Now I'm -- Looking at this it's kind of boring does not I mean it's a nice shot but it doesn't have some impact political near instant and some color make it very dramatic. Right so -- and isn't to have to collar job. Okay looks like its black and white -- the reds and the evidence is one get some dramatic colors happened. So when it goes -- to go into my channels and look for one of the channels like the red that means. But the blue and at all pretty even but I know does a good news got a little more. Detailed going on that is what it would -- exist -- to duplicate that green channel. Which gave me my first alpha channel. Right so the alpha channel has nothing to do with the images to create a master which I will do things to that image and that mass right now is based on. The information I was in that green channel. -- I'm doing I'm gonna -- start playing with this I'm gonna go in and that's -- control on this. Second sent to going to start trying to. Messing around with things and it -- those back here isn't like some of these other areas it's going here and kind of pushed us and that's good to look at these weird kind of really strong lights and darts click okay. -- got all these guys a light and dark stuff happening all the lights and head lamp the top part of it carted to grill and everything else went really dark. So Chrome became right from the -- so became black. That is the basis for a massive -- adding a -- going to duplicate this."

" And I want to take that duplicate -- an inverted."

" And I noticed that not a body of the car is in the light tones and all the other stuff became black. Those two things are now going to give me. The access to the areas that I want to apply this -- So now I'm gonna go in here and start doing that. So I'm gonna go back to my -- my -- as. Topic going to create layer I want to make this a selection. Now before I do that than just shows up and got this layer here right and if I had a master it. Those did -- is completely -- Academy undo that. I'm gonna go in here and low this channel. The first channel from the command click. On it. Right here. Which is a control click on the PC and then just click on in the panel as -- have a selection. Come back to my layers now right here on top of this I'm going to go in here and create a new solid color. Layer."

" Look appear. You see what happened it automatically has a mass and the mask reflects what was properly selected. Which is. The area of the light homes for the Chrome tonight -- favorites pick -- color -- that all those areas of being filled with this nice red. But all the other areas of being left alone. They've I got this I read in fact that might be and it's kind of it. Dramatic color to use or maybe something a little warned of purples that might be kind of cool as go to purple. Click okay. So now I go back to my channel and selecting second alpha channel. There's a second alpha channel. That's the one that's who reverse of the current color Wi -- so -- would create another solid color layer on top of that. -- now we see that we got they why because my current foreground color but I have my color window here. And there's a mask to reverse mask of the first one. Right there tonight you're going here and let's just say we pick something India and a deep blue's maybe about like that that might be -- kind of nice subtle color they have nice deep -- may go a little deeper on it. As soon get this kind of dramatic kind of look that looks good click OK so now I've got all this stuff happening here. And -- take my original car. The copy that it made of it and put it up on top and that's objectives to filter so come over here I'm gonna go to onto my you have. To my sketch and use. A it's scary how little actually Norman got my blurs is gonna be better I'm gonna go into my smart -- Because what I want to do is actually get the line -- who the hell would be pulled out of the stuff I'm gonna go here and right now I'm gonna. Have my quality set to high eight. And the mode it's normal I want to be -- Edges just the edges you feel it's not happening there I'm getting just the edges navigate around with the threshold I'm gonna start getting less detail. What should. No number I'm getting a lot more details at school until somewhere about -- nice detail on the head lamps and so on to say debt and -- is gonna give me. Even more detail so this has put about about like that and it's good. Click okay. And that's gonna apply that expect it to my whole thing here which I'm not going to convert that to -- command night. It converts it and then I'm gonna put that in there in multiply mode. -- added this cool black texture on top of those colleges. So now I'm -- on top of all this thing go with my little. Headline down there and just pick a nice bright color lets -- use white white is nice and simple so we've got the right color I'm gonna say go ahead and fill that with the white. There it is so now that's good that a little impact it will go into a layer styles and we'll just give those little drop shadow. Which will have Lucia coming from this side and give you more distance like that and maybe -- boss not not will -- be nice district but you know what that white might not be quite. Right now I have to go in here and start. Constantly changing the colors that it to view the color changes you want to be able to see you doing so apply the color as a layer style. -- go here and say. Color overlay. Which right now is that red had come over here and start playing around with different colors that they say I want to do you know wouldn't see that the green little to do strong. -- go would maybe want to be blues like that one right in there. This group who were there ago -- bat deaths are still a better I -- played around with it until I have the way I -- click okay. Click okay and there we -- that we get this really cool little poster now. That started off with a fairly nice photograph but it wasn't. As have been heavy impact that I want to wants to be little. More colorful little less detail that you don't really seem to cars just a hint of a car and then I do that makes -- allowed outline on top of it."

" By going in there and getting all the edges I didn't you'll find -- filter what it is they. A smart blur filter that -- the -- or women there and it and brought out those edges. To give me a nice little clean lines rather than those little bubble lines that you sometimes get with the finder just -- that these nice clean crisp lines. So now. Like I always say it's not. What I ended up there is how I got that point a lot of the things that I covered in there are things that you can then take into your images and apply them how do you want. That can -- here a different effect there are different -- going to get totally different effects is the whole point of going in there and experimenting this you you can come up with.
