Perspective, Color Correction, and Lighting Effects

Chris Orwig, a photographer and educator at the Brooks Institute joins Bert Monroy this week at Photoshop World in Las Vegas to guest host.

Chris believes that photography savors life and you get more out of your life when you capture the moment. He will show you color enhancing techniques for your images.

We start with a photo of a man on a snowy mountain. To even out a perspective, use the free transform tool, then crop to get rid of the angled edges.

To adjust the color, create an adjustment layer. You can use this layer to brighten the color and define what is white.

Chris then adds some color correction and lighting effects. He does this by creating a hue/saturation adjustment layer.

To adjust light, create a new layer with a snapshot of what's visible, then apply lighting effects at 10% where the highlight is at the point of interest, which is the man in the photo.
