Create clouds over a sea...of love

This week, Bert creates majestic clouds over a beautiful awe-inspiring sea - all with Photoshop.

Bert creates clouds over a sea from scratch! First, in order to create the sea, Bert picks a blue color and uses fiber filters (adjusting the strength and variance) and the gaussian blur filter to make the color realistic. Bert then distorts the blue sea (edit>transform>rotate and edit>transform>distort) to create waves that are bigger in the front and smaller in the back. In a new layer, Bert picks a deeper blue color, adds a liner gradient and places the layer in multiply mode in order to give the sea a real-life color. To color the sky, Bert pics a light blue color and adds a gradient in a new layer. To create the clouds, Bert creates a unique brush with the brush engine (adjusting shape dynamics - size and angle jitter - and turning off pen pressure). To create the rays of the sun, Bert makes white chunks/loose shapes using a hard edge brush and gives it the light effect by using the Radical Blur filter (with zoom function)

To add light reflection on the water, Bert uses a big brush and draws a white streak in a new layer over the sea. Bert then clips the layer with the sea, puts the layer in screen mode, and adjusts the underlying layer with the Blend if layer style.

I'm gonna create my bush in the shape here which means that the white will be transparent -- get us -- that bush. Like this one has to say who goes with little 45. That's a good size that there and bring you passing down went down quite a bit -- with about 50% right. And I'm just gonna do with black it's been drawn little. Kind of -- shape like so. How can I get a copy of the background used on the show?
That looked really good. It would make for a nice desktop wallpaper...although I would need it to be 1680x1050 (or better still 3360x1050) but whatever I can get would be fine.

Fairly cool episode. I was actually trying to do something similar a few days ago, but is was a night scene, which Silentspyder gave me a few tips on. Im gonna re-do the clouds Bert's way tho. They looked cool.A lot less messing with the show this week alright.

PS: wolf68k, you could try taking a screenshot when Bert steps aside to show everyone, then use that screen shot as a template to make your own unique one. Just an idea.

For sure. I love how Bert makes brushes like that and shows how to use them in many different ways... it's not something I would have thought about that much.

MAN, I love that blend if in the layer styles, that just gets me every time I use it ha!
