Pimp Your Ride... In Photoshop

Use brush tools, gradient, filters and more to create an awesome automobile headlight, and more.
This week, Bert shows a picture of a red truck to demonstrate how to add intricate detail, specifically on the car headlight.
First, Bert creates a the shape of the headlight as a white circle and uses the layer as a base. Within the bulb, rounded lines are added by using the pen tool, alpha channel, stroke effect and gaussian blur filter.
Bert adjusts the color and effects within the bulb (with the gradient tool and dodge/burn tool) and distorts the background (with the smudge tool and liquify filter).
To add graininess to the image, add the noise filter with the blur more filter.

To be little highlights those little bright machines into that they're very rough. Brush strokes it's a simple brush where I've gone in there and just. Grown and a bunch of little white tones and so wanted to make it. Look IDs though she's that we see here. And we feel through years to salute all the rust all of these things it -- the simple brush strokes don't circle about. All the other stuff that's going on here. These lines in particular the separations and in the class and all those infections behind the glass all the stuff that would seem there. That's the stuff for want to talk about now. So. Disney file of the light this is what I've started easier all the paths here. And it would look at layers and see there's quite a few layers migrated here when we're going to start looking at the the scene for a reflection which right now is turned off those are the elements that I used to create this Chrome in here. That I turn that on we see their right of that there is that we'll seen that is. Inside here but it is that it's created and -- opens up and treaties and so little program that group them all into one single layer that we see there. And it's as simple trees clouds ground. And then I theorize industry rifle that would curb them like that I can -- there. On this side -- simply took a composite of the grill and I sphere rises on this side. Com logo in here and get a paintbrush. And that is going to solve that brush like this -- is gonna draw some lines gone right across like this there ago. Nothing fancy just some rough lines now I'm gonna go in there and start of these lines in different ways that is a lot of different ways of doing this thing. I'm gonna show you two different ways. What you choose it all depends on what -- particular pieces and what kind of -- trying to get. Then inside here they were all these other. There is the whole different other tones and so and so forth and little voice on top of the little. Draining us that was a very simple they would have done many times on the show and that is to say we focus there with a little black. And we'll give -- some noise -- noise. -- a lot of noise.
