Bert answers some viewer mail requesting a way to make a double helix or
twisted wire. Using illustrator and the powerful pattern brush, he takes us
through the steps from a wavy line to a realistic wire effect.

Thong -- go in here and start to create my first wires and it clicked and -- hold down my shift key to get constrain their talk horizontal. That becomes the basis for my brush on the select them. It's a little bit right now so go ahead and shrink it down for instance a out of bring it down to about the 50%. So when I click okay you know is at the white got thicker. I like that want this nice thick wire. That now can become my. Brush I Kamal we here tonight brush panel and in these little drop down menu I think new brush. And here I choose the pattern. Click on new pattern -- Click okay. And and appear right there right click okay. There it is so now. I can take this and not thrown away at this point on the unit. And I can take. Notepad here. And or to grow and create that's a lot kind of shape it -- practice. I've got beautiful. And I click on that brush and the panel. And it would see that we now have a twisted pair wire now you notice that the original -- very even. But now it's not very why because the different turns in our in our path here as I turn it which makes him look a little more realistic. There's a -- as you system is certain spots -- kind of separate little bit the united that I got that nice of separation I care. And so on and any point in going there and does select the point a particular point and play around that. And they -- you can see that all the wires are twisting I'm getting a real.
