You could try sunlite suite (www.nicolaudie.com) this would give you DMX out from your computer but it costs $700 for the controller :( not to mention dimmer packs (American DJ).
could be a wide range "technology" episode if they made they're own dimmer packs. Just a thought but probably won't happen.

Show Idea: iPhone Headset to stereo and mic adapter

I have been contemplating purchasing a computer headset (has both headphone and mic) for playing games/skype/etc. Then I started thinking why can't I just use my iPhone headset which is already pretty decent and save $60-$100. After searching for ~3hours I couldn't find an adapter available to purchase but did find the parts and figured that since you already have some experience doing audio for the iPhone this would be a fairly easy and cheap episode for you (and since it is something I need to do I would actually follow along).

What happened to the episode about openfiler?

I believe it was an episode of systm (could be wrong on which show it was on) a month or so back that mentioned there would be an episode on openfiler. What happened to this? I would like to see one on openfiler and a compare to freenas of features and speed.

Show idea: DIY laser spirograph

This looks like something David could do standing on his head (or hanging from magnets :D), ie he could easily make a decent show from it.

Metacafe video - pic based laser spirograph

It's basically a PIC controlling 3 motors (5v PC fans in this case) each with a FS mirror with a laser shining onto one which then bounces off the other two to create some neat spirograph patterns.

I would like to see an episode on the basics of using & programming PICs, and this would be a fun way to impliment newly learnt PIC usage/programming as well as some 'proper' DIY creating. The cost of the parts don't look particularly expensive either.
