Jon Q is back to attack and highlight another epic mobile application. This week, JQ changes things up a bit and checks out a Mac OS desktop app that... still of course involves mobile iOS devices. Reflection allows users to mirror their iOS devices seamlessly on their desktops via Apple's AirPlay technology. But, is it really that good? Is it worth it? Find out in this episode of WTA!
What is Reflection? Reflection is a Mac OS desktop app (sorry Windows users!) that allows you to mirror your iPhone, iPod Touch, and/or iPad onto your desktop's display over Apple's AirPlay. In other words, you'll be able to see what's on your tiny iPhone on the big screen!
You might be thinking, "What would I use this app for?". Most people would find this app amusing, but not very practical. However, for those who need to demo iOS apps or for those who need to effectively record iOS screen footage, Reflection is a life-saver!
As splendiferously awesome as this app is, it lacks the ability for you to control your device with your desktop. Granted, this feature was probably restricted due to Apple's terms and conditions with AirPlay. It would have been cool though.
What's The Apps is a in-depth application review experience hosted by Jon Quach (aka. WaffleJon) - known on YouTube and the internet for his upbeat personality. Tune into TechnoBuffalo's What The Apps to find out what's hot and to learn how you can improve your mobile experience one app at a time.
