Here's Part Two of a 2-part tour around the new Barnes and Noble Nook Tablet, and its custom operating system.
Nook Tablet is essentially the successor to Nook Color, and runs a heavily modified version of Android OS 2.3 "Gingerbread". Nook Tablet steps up its game with a dual-core TI OMAP processor, 1 GB of RAM, and access to more apps including Hulu Plus, Netflix, Pandora - all of which come pre-installed. The user experience is slightly more complicated than the one on Nook Color, but it's still nicely tailored to the tech neophyte or anyone more interested in purchasing and consuming books, magazines, newspapers and apps than "messing around with a computer".
