Windows Error Recovery... what to do if you get the big black screen. Want your surround sound system to sound right? Put your rear speakers in the right place! Ubuntu is coming for cell phones! Buy it or build it... we're not talking PCs. Plus Robert's CES Preview: Affordable 4K HDTVs, affordable 3D projectors and more!
Plus find out if Intel can replace Cable TV!

The Verge has a writeup on Canonical's plans for the mobile market. Apparently the mobile Ubuntu will be based around the Android kernel but won't use the Dalvik VM.
Forbes is reporting that Intel is going to take on the cable companies and offer a la carte TV channels to their set top box. The Wall Street Journal reported on the same idea way back in March of 2012. We'll see how things turn out...but we won't be hearing about it during CES. Make sure to check out Gizmodo's write-up on why a al carte programming might not be worth it for consumers.
@BobRossLives wants to know if building a NAS is worth it, or if an off the shelf alternative is better. See the segment to find out Patrick and Robert's experiences with network attached storage units.
Tons of cool products will be released at the Consumer Electronics Show (which we'll be covering), but some details have already been leaked. Things like LG's GoogleTV, laser projectors, flexible displays, and way more! Watch the video for all the things that Robert is excited for this CES.
Patrick has a question about the correct speaker placement for a not-perfectly-ideal home theater room. Should the rear speakers go higher on the ceiling in the 90 degree sweet spot, or head level directly behind the viewer? Robert goes over the best solution and talks AVRs with awesome speaker setup tech.
Patrick goes over some options to hopefully fix that "Windows did not shutdown correctly" error. And while we're on the topic, you should set up a Windows restore point now!
Mike is a grad student that needs a cheap screen recording program that he can make edits with. We went over some free tools back in Tekzilla episode 353, but here are a few more options: for Mac, Quicktime X is free and has limited editing capability; Windows has the option of Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 that can also do some simple edits.
Tekzilla will be at CES yet again. Make sure to subscribe to the RSS, the YouTube channel, or head to Revision3.com/CES.
